Taw - Yeah, I know. Rimmer and Lister MADE that show. That "Rimmerland" episode was quite disturbing...

Vek - Indeed! I had to spend more than a grand on a Queen bed, because everything else was too short! And DON'T speak to me about trying to find shoes in large sizes! I have to go to a special store! Life sucks!

a queen bed? i trust you mean a queen-SIZE bed, and not a bed FOR queens. Or i'd start to worry about you, Esq

Off the topic? I don't know what you're talking about

A distiguishing feature of these boards is that a topic can start and wander off in some other direction. Someone will say: "On topic though" and continue the debate and it will vere off on another tangent.

Most other places I visit may go off for a bit, but rarely more than once or twice. It must have done so about 5 times or more already in this thread!

Zone - yeah well, they started it!

Taw, Honestly, I couldn't be bother typing "queen-size", but "queen bed" is present in the Australian vernacular, and means the same thing. I try not to use colloquialisms when typing because I am not your stereotypical Australian. In fact, I don't even have an accent! And I LIKE it that way! I HATE that Australian drawl! You know, "Hi, Woiyne!" as opposed to "Hi, Wayne!". Western suburbs types in Victoria speak like that! *shudder* .

Everyone is picking on me lately! *sniff*. Besides, *I* very rarely take forum posts off topic; ff usually gets in before I do . I'm feeling persecuted now...

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 2:49 pm

i think you should be prosecuted, not persecuted

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 4:20 pm

Taw - Maybe so, but I'm the victim here!

Time to drag this thread back on topic *grunt*. There we go! One thing that I noticed about RD was that despite its good satire, there is quite a lot of "cheap" humour. Eg., Kryten having a robotic phallus. I mean, come on! That's not witty! Thats just crass and obvious. Am I right?

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 4:22 pm

no it was bl**dy funny! stop being gay, there's nothing wrong with coarse humour and vulgar slapstick. what's NOT funny about a dangly robotic hosepipe for a willy? you should see mine..

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 4:29 pm

Better yet, who can remember the episode where Kryten makes a functional one and it hides under Listers cupboard! Or indeed when he gets his dearest wish and becomes human. He then flicks through a magazine about hoovers and has to take a double polaroid to show kochanski and ask her if that's normal

Taw - "Stop being gay"? Do mean that as in "happy"? What are you insinuating? I thought that you were going to stop jumping to conclusions .

Zone - That's exactly what I mean; it is just a cheap laugh, it's not exactly imaginative writing though, is it? It's been done before!

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 5:52 pm

<sniff> my whole life's based on cheap laughs, esq. now thx to you I have nothing...

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 9:23 pm

Life's like that, Taw! Go and spend some time with your wife or something . How's that influenza of yours by the way?

On topic, it would appear that I am the only one who doesn't like cheap laughs around here. Mmm, I should remember that next time I experiment with this human concept called "humour"...
