Red Dwarf movie stranded



Sci-fi Online reports that filming of the Red Dwarf film has been delayed.

Despite Danny John-Jules' comment to the site that filming on the movie would commence early in 2004, the project now looks set for a May 2004 start date.

This is the official statement from Grant Naylor Productions:

"Red Dwarf - The Movie may be shot in Australia. Preliminary design work is currently underway and shooting is slated for May 2004. Crewing up has not yet begun."

I hadn't seen any that were more clearly showing that it was still going ahead. All others I saw and were discussed earlier in the thread seemed to be longer ago and seemed to say that it was being delayed with permanent scraping the likely result. This one seems to say it is going to happen. It suggests that they've now found the place and the time... I dunno, it just seemed more positive of a go ahead than the others.

Red Dwarf was possibly the defining sci fi comedy. EVAR. I've seen severa;l documentaries on it and the stars all say they did waht they wanted to do which was to tak Sci Fi to an all new level of weird.

I could tell some small facts later as to how groundbreaking and different and painful Red Dwarf was to make.

That is a direct quote from Series 3, Episode 6 - The last day Kryten is explaining the myth of human heaven to Lister. However, I think it may be: "There's no such place as human heaven, that's just something made up to stop you all from going mad!" you can't thwack someone who evidently is more of a Red Dwarf nut than yourself!

I TOLD you that RD is hardly ever on here in Aus! Besides, when you quote something, you should incoporate it into a statement. That way, people know what you are referring to. I could start having posts with quotes from "Don Quixote", but who (apart from Taw) would get them? Besides, his quote had nothing to do with anyone's comments therefore, despite being techincally on topic, was irrelevant and hence, could be considered spam. Not of course, that I am accusing TG of anything like that...

Heh be glad that little ------ is there, I've been on forums without em and to say the least I annoyed people since I used a huge sig as a joke. (Including a 26000+ Character ASCII Dragon)
