Well....I'm off to the mall to see if I can find the Demo. Keep your finger's crossed for me.

I'm with Bargib on that one. Sure, we can't stop Freelancer from leaking into the net completely but you can help containing the problem by not spreading it any further. Freelancer and thus the whole space genre needs every honest customer it can get. If Freelancer turns into a flop because everyone just plays but doesn't buy it, it probably may be the last good game of the genre for a long long time. I don't wanna see that happen. I want it to be a huge success.

We are talking about people on this board who have probably had Freelancer preordered for 2+ years

I don't think sharing the PR demo is going to hurt anyone. I doubt the demo will be playable online with the official game, and there is no way I will miss out on that.

Who knows, Digital Anvil may have put a timer in the game (like the C&C betas). That way when the full game is released, the PR demos would stop working. Don't know a way to check, but it would seem logical.

The PR Demo has ALL THE CONTENT of the finished game but contains as far as I know over 100 bugs that where fixed to the final version, including some balancing changing the relation between missions and trading!

So it MIGHT give an idea of the final game, but is lacking the final polish. And it will not be palyable for the final version.

I'm not saying the Marketing Beta version is bad in any way, but having that version warezed is very bad!

Well, I've got to wonder.... Everyone here that has gotten the PR BETA at Gamestop, or wherever.... Where do you live, and if anyone got it at a store other than Gamestop, where did you get it. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and we only have EB and Babbages, neither of them have it, and I called a Gamestop ion Jacksonville, Florida, and they don't have it either. So i'm wondering if its local, or what. I've going to Germany for a trip in a week anyways, so I'm not going to be worrying about the release date. I'd just like to find out more of what's going on

If DA sent the "Full version Beta" to GameStop, i'm sure Digital Anvil where aware of GameStop selling them?

FYI... found out that some stores may actually have it but just not telling people. I talked to one of the EB stores in my area and the manager there said that he did receive a small handful of the PR discs the other day. But he wasn't sure what he was suppose to do with them, as there were really no instructions. Said he wasn't sure if they were for the employees or if he was suppose to give them to customers. Told me to check back in a day or two. Called another EB in town and the gentleman on the phone was acting kind of weird about it and then finally was just like sorry we don't have any so.... Maybe they're trying to find out what the deal is themselves.

Well, babbages was a flop, they did not have any. However, Software Ect. gave me their last copy

I went ahead and payed for the whole thing so all I have to do is hand then my receipt and I am ready to go.

On a side note MS is pretty well versed on the business side of things and I don't think they would release a PR if they thought it would damage their sales or make it less of an experiance for the fans. Just a thought.

Ahhhh I can't find it any where, maybe if I pre-order it online I'll get one lol.

Call me crazy, but I resisted getting the PR version at Babbages today...

I have decited to wait.. I know I would just get hooked on it and start playing for hours but I do not want to start all over again when the retail comes out.

Besides, commidity trading will be my game, and if there are balancing issues with this (as Bargib pointed out), then that aint cool. Dig?
