@Lightning: That's pretty common. The tool is system intensive. Not sure if it works more msoothly on XP, but I'm on Win 98 and I experience that a great deal as well. It takes a lot of patience.

I put the "fun" into "dysfunctional."

im new at mod and have some ? to ask. win it ask me about the dell it does not ask wair to but it and i can not fine it win i name it . and 1 more thing the jump gates will not work for me i can go in but not back throw the gate the some way i came throw the mod crash all the time.??????????????

You will need to do your infocards outside of FLEXP. The jumpholes work as long as you enter the data correctly in the popup form.

This is absolutely amazing. Well done!

However: one slight problem. I can't work out how to get a jumpgate/jumphole.

You need something that explains what each thing does.

Anyway: how do you get a gate?

I got it working right after I posted.

I now face a new problem.

I had a system working perfectly well (except for the blank names)

I added trade encounters and patrols, then the next time I entered the gate into my system, Freelancer crashed.

When you're NOT in edit mode, right click. There should be a "jump gate start", "jump gate end", "hump hole start", and "jump hole end" options."

The thing I am constantly having trouble with are patrols. Just now, I created another patrol, and Freelancer crashed when I launched from my new station.

There seems to be a problem with patrols, if you have a problem, delete some of the patrols and start adding them again

Well that's another problem. How the heck do you DELETE patrols? I can't get them to.

And it's every patrol I've tried. Just won't work.

Patrols can be deleted by using the select zone button and then hitting next until you run into the patrols. Patrols are one of the last things you want to setup and you need to pay attention to how you add them. There are certain rules to make them work, for instance no encounter can have over 100% of factions in it.

Well the patrols just won't work: even if I make one patrol on 40% for the entire system, Freelancer will crash when I enter the system.

Oh, sorry if this has been mentioned already, but could someone give me exact instructions on how to get the names to work?
