@JSWY: I can't get exclusion zones to work with this tool at all. Scratch that, it did once (and only once) and no matter how many times I repeat the same steps, it doesn't show in game. The zones are there in the editor, but in game the bases are clouded in by asteroids and/or a particle cloud. Could you give me a walkthrough on how you got the zones to work in FLE so I can see if I'm doing it wrong on my end? Thanks.

got a familiar problem but can't find a satisfactory answer ....yet...
make a new system - names not remembered and game crashes when i approach a named object
installed in the exe directory, no problem with c:/temp
is it an infocard problem or something else?
sorry in advance for an apparently repeated question, but the threads seem to die off without reaching a definate conclusion
plz help - cheers

i think you should maybe add some thing to tell where potential errors my occur or where the game my crash when you are playing the game. i think this would be helpful

@Greame: First off, the ATL71.dll file must be installed in the System32 folder. There are two files, one for Win 2000/XP and another for Win 98/ME. Make sure you have the correct version installed. Also, make certain that the mod is deactivated in FLMM before attempting to edit anything. I can tell you right now that if you click "YES" to the warning message about your custom dll file having the Windows signature that this is 100% of your problem. I have seen this problem happen when attempting to add new rumors in the bars, I haven't seen it with infocards, but there's always a first time I guess.

@Graeme777 - the prob you have could be an corrupted universe.ini, mbases.ini or some zones in the file which doesn´t correspondend with the Yoursystem01.ini file. If you like i take a look at yours files and help ya. For further debuging look here http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/forum/t ... ng&M=False

atl71.dll and other runtime files usually work in the system folder or in the programs folder since they are both scanned for the existance of the file. As to any advantages of having it in the system folder I really don't know.

1. all errors with "cannot open c:\\EXE\Freelancer.ini" are errors cause by registry problems. that means your game isn't registered in the windows registry. reinstall the game. and no it should work fine.

2. there's a problem in the editor my freelancer crashes. when i jump in a new created system. this can be because of the "Zone Population" or because of "Lane Traffic".

What must be deleted to make my mod run with my fl?

Crabtree (and anyone else concerned with this problem): I installed my FLE to the following: D:\Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer Explorer
My work is saving (at least the folders and ini files are being created) but I continue to get the "can't find C:\temp" error when saving my work. Don't tell me to create the folder. It already exists. Not so simple after all, right? And no, the folder is not read only. It is a standard archive folder and is CLEARLY present, and unless the tool needs more than 3 gigs of space, there is plenty of drive space left to write to the folder.

I get the same problems that others have reported; ie, I create my system and planets and bases and fields, and then when I load up the mod again to continue working on it, all of the names are missing.

One more problem I encounter is when I reopen the mod in FLE and work on it, the latest object created is somehow assigned to the name of the system on the universe map, so that the system never shows the proper name.

By the way, glad to see that the tool is still in developement. I am fairly new to Freelancer AND to editing this particular game. Nice work on the tool so far, although it still needs some work in various areas. I'd like to add in my request for creation of Factions, and also a request for DETAILED help files that include each function and in-depth explanations on how to use the funtion. Not just what it does, but how to use it. For example, what are the three boxes in ROTATION and ORIENTATION? I viewed just about every planet in the universe and found no planet that uses the first box in either category. I found a very few that use the center box for rotation and two that used the last two boxes in orientation.

Good luck to the team and keep up the good work.

Spacerock, you may be able to solve the C: Temp error by moving everything from your explorer directory into the Freelancer\EXE folder, then change the shortcut in your start menu to point there, for example E:\Games\Freelancer\EXE\FreelancerExplorer.exe
or C:\Freelancer\EXE if you don't use partitioned hard drives.
If you are still having problems, check your autoexec.bat file to make sure that the temp folder is set to C drive.

However, I am having very frustrating problems with the names disappearing after setting up infocards. If anyone knows how to fix this I would appreciate it very much.

Experience is a hard teacher, because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.

Hello! problem: When I want to zoom in the FLEE the program will be frozen down and write this: " A REQUIRED RESCOURE UNAVALAIBLE". I don't know what is it, but I can't make any screenshot, because the free memory is 0% !!!
else:
- When the names are don't forgotten, the Freelancer is frozen down at over 1 minutes! I USE WIN98. (I have got XP too, but I don't know where is the Freelancer disc...) (I'm from Hungary and my english is not the best )

When you installed did you select Windows 98 as your operating system?
