@Dj Geri - I believe this is caused by not setting up the zones properly. Check out some of the system tutorials.

@Glitch - You setup your bases via a template in FLEXP and then you change it manually though the ini files.

EDIT : Never mind I just reinstalled Freelancer.

I used this before (who knows how long ago) and I could never make a working system. Just recently I made a completely messed up (visually) but working system. But then I made another system (using the exact way to make things) and it crashes when you enter the system.

Is this a bug in FLE or in my system

To Spacerock>> - That error appears, but thats a bug to appear, but the mod is still saved, at least that is how it is with me. If it doesn't save, maybe FLE can't create its own folder and you have to pre-create it before you save the mod. Maybe.

EDIT : My god, this is a dead post. Is anyone still here?

I'm here but you withdrew your question so I didn't see the need for a response.

I'm having troubles with this..
I'm having the aforementioned C:\Temp error, no matter what I do it doesnt go away, no matter where I put it. Does it also matter if the freelancer directory is a different name? (IE = E:\Copy Of Freelancer\).
Also, this C:\Temp error only occurs when I try to update my mod. Objects and everything survive, but for some reason, names will not.

But that aside, for some odd reason the program sucks up resources like a Buick sucks up gas.. No really, after just zooming in the New York system, the images labelling the different objects dissapear, and I can no longer zoom in/out. Then shortly after that, my computer begins really acting crappy and runs out of resources in almost no time at all, it'll get so bad that I have to restart my computer. Now I know that is weird, because the only program that is supposed to do that is AOL Instant messager. I really do want to use this program though, but this is just weird.

I'm still getting the C;/TEMP error too, no matter what I do. I have teh files installed in C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer/EXE, but I still get it. Also, i finished testing my first new system on my server, and like i had feared , ALL of the names were gone, includign the system's name. Waht is the deal? I know that soem people have been havign this problem, but that was before with older versions, so I thought I'd remention it. AS a side note, do I need to do any editing/creting stuf outside of Explorer to make it work? I was hoping that I can do everything i need to do to make a new system inside of Explorer. Please tell me if im missing something.

The new version is nearing completion and should fix all of these problems.

Great to hear it. It's an amazing program, but those little things can drive you nuts, you know? My compliments to the creators/caretakers for helping us with our problems!

One more bug I want to mention is that when I try to see a preview of the base template or base I am chosing, by clicking "preview," the program crashes. Is this a common problem?
