Hmm seems like an isolated incdident, maybe if this happens to more people we can pinpoint the problem. Right now all I can do is look at the loot drops and see if that is it.

I'm glad you like the house weapons, they are rare, but WOW they are by far the best weapons in the game. BobTheDog spent alot of time on those weapons

I have also had that problem.

Also, when I land to repair, I get a list with some that say 'componet'. I can't remember what I was flying or what i did exactly but if I figure it out... I will let you know.

Also, the mission 12 patch thing... I sent you an email about it. Something with the shiparch.ini file.

I'm not sure this qualifies as a bug, but it's kinda odd. There seems to be guns or something sticking out of the back of the Slave fighter's engines.

Ok, now I'm pretty sure that these mysterious things in my cargo hold are the cloaking devices of the Rhienland ships, or at least these things are comming from them. I blew up a bunch of Rhienlanders in the story mission, 9 or 10, and now my cargo hold looks like this:

I have also been picking up those objects. Through most of the game there were only one or two in my hold at a time. After finishing the SP game, I took a mission in the Nexus against a Rheinland BS, and I was swamped with at least 8 of the things. A moment later, I was kicked back to the desktop and unable to get Freelancer to respond.

I am using TNG 1.2 full with 1.4 and mission 12 patches

I can also confirm the existance of these in my cargo hold while playing Vanilla SP FL. Unfortunately, I am just as clueless as you all about what they might be. Could be a piece of code that didn't get removed before retail for items that were once going to be included, but later ditched from the final release.

What were you doing when you got this? killing Rheinlanders and nomads. anything that cloaks.

Did this come off an NPC? yes see above.

If so what NPC? see above

What system did you find this in? shi***u i think (the one where you are ambushed by a whole rheinland fleet, going to meet kress)

Is it sellable? no, it disappears when you dock, only way to get rid of it for me is to jettison it.

What version were you using? 1.4 then 1.4 m12 patch. (whitch works, the rest of you must have done something wrong

also, i believe it takes up cargo space, ill have to check on that one.

Xenocideforme: The components are something on capital ships/transports that you can target just as you target their turrets.

I am quite certain those are cloaking devices, yes. Why they are there I have no clue to though.

this happend to me every time I were doing a random mission against "lane hackers"

I lost my shield and then on the first hit on the hull, I have lost not even half of the HP square, all my ship equipment went "boom". this happens in MP and SP, in any system, I have just to have the bad luck fighting lane hackers

Dont know if anybody mentioned this already but I dont have time to read them all.This is in MP.


You cant lounch from Planet Malta with battleship (rheinland in partecular) cause docking ring will kill you as you come out. You might need ghost docking ring on this one. It made me trade battleship for gunboat you might want to fix this.

When I leave the osiris on mission 12 I am trapped in a force field or something. My shadow crab just bounces around until it explodes. Juni and King are also stuck, I can see their cruise engines engage when I hit f2, but they just sit there vibrating. This started happening after I tried to cure Mission 12 failure at the shield generator by purchasing another ship on Osiris, it was a Rhineland gunboat. After I reloaded a saved game with the Crab, and replayed mission 11, I still get the same shield loop problem when I leave the Osiris. Yes, I did install the 1.5 patch, Everything is installed as you instructed.

PLanet malta has been fixed.

As far as msisin 12, did you download the mission 12 patch yet. Please read teh instructions carefully on that.

As I said before, capital ships are not suppose to be used in SP games. They can cause unexpected errors.
