Dear Mace,

I've been waiting now month for the realese of the next (hopefully
bugfree & improved) version like all of your fans did.

You know I spend nearly 2.000 hrs on bughunting, and reporting them
to you.

I just hope you'll finish this outstanding project next year, it would be
a shame if you'd throw away 1,5 years of hard work - as this is the
best and most sophisticated mod that was ever created for Freelancer.

So I wish you and your family Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2007
and hope you will find the time and interest to finish your work.

Think of all the time you've already put on this, do you really want to drop
it so close to the completion ?!

@kuvacz, oh hi its been a while. Thanks for your comments. I have recently started doing a bit on modding FL again. I don't have the same level of interest that i did before, but i still do intend to release the next version.
The only thing that is stopping me at the moment is a couple of crashes that i am having a hard time reproducing and going through Flspit files.
Its actually taken around 2.5 years working on this mod (quite possibly more), although for the last 9 months i have done very little.
Its also been harder finding the time with real-life stuff to deal with.

Thanks for your continued interest in FS and i hope that when it does get released it isn't a disappointent for you. I did add the Kuvacz Blaster that you asked about ages ago on BS.

Anf hey, real life always needs to take the first place in your life, that's ok
and as I am playing (lkime many others) FL for about 7 years now since its
first release I won't die if it'll take some longer to get the best FL mode that
was ever written to its final release.

Just released the Frontierspace website. It isn't finished yet, but i'm going to be working on both the next release and the site for the next few weeks.

Just finished a Freelancer mini-vid. Its only 20 seconds long so far, but its resolution is 640 x 480 (4.35Mb) and it can be watched here:
The Outpost

It includes models created by:
Firebase - The Phantom class fighter
Digital Anvil - The Outpost, Landing pads, Rhino and Armoured Transport

Hey Unib, very soon actually. I was playing around with the idea of Flmodel cloning the original ships before release which would have put it back a bit, but i seem to get archetype errors where it is loading the wrong ship when spawning.
Not to worry, i'll get my head around it properly at a later date. It would need a unique version number as servers do an archetype check to make sure we are using the same files and that would fail.
I've got to do some very easy FLShell type files for a bit, then i'll be uploading it.

I've just finished the FS 1.74 Universe map. Its mostly the same, but i have opened up Omicron Minor and added an events system reached from Phiagre.

Thanks for taking the time to get the new release out! Quick question. Are saved games from the previous version compatible with the new version?

Hey Oddball, its been a while.
I'm afraid that saved games between the two won't be compatible due to some changes with the faction nicknames.
Ioncross was having a hard time reading some of them. For single payer. you could try using the saved game editor and manually modify the entries.
For MP, it would have to be done by the server admin, so it really depends on them.
Let me know if you need a hand with them.

Thanks Mace. I've never had ANY luck with saved game editors so it looks like I will have to start from scratch. No biggie

Now to figure out why DataStorm won't work ...........

Well, i haven't done anything to datastorm to stop it working. But, to be honest i'm actually glad that it dosen't work, i'd rather people explore and find out things for themselves or from eac other than just running data storm and gettin all of the answers.
For the saved game editor, it should really be a case of just looking through the faction entries and comparing them to the ones in initial_world.ini then modifying them. Make sure you make a backup first, but that should be it.

I don't use DataStorm to find all the goodies. I just liked to use it once in a while as a sort of reference guide. It's much more fun flying around finding stuff

I've never found a save game editor that works. I'm not going to worry about it. Better to start from scratch anyways .....

Hey Mace

Bad news. Several CTD's when trying to leave Battleship Valiant in Wolf-359. Had a few when trying to land on the Valiant as well. Finally make enough $$$ to buy the Anubis Custom and now I can't even take off
