this shuld be the initial world file or initiaial world ini it opens all jump gate even sp ones but you guys already know that its the magic ;

Cheers Richard, i wasn't sure which file to edit. I'm not going to open up every single hole as they tend to affect trade. I have opened up most of the other ones now though.

i tried installing the SDK v1.3, and that did not fux my problem, after i start a new game, and i should be in space, there is no picture, and when i activate the in-game menu, there is. any ideas?

It sounds like you are spawning from a badly named base. If it dosen't know where to pu you it just dumps you in the freeport 7 system.
What actually are you running? If you are playing single player, you must activate the opensp after activating the main mod. If you are playing multiplayer, do not activate the opensp as it leads to instability.

It sounds more like a graphics card problem rather than a mod problem, it almost sounds like the frames aren't being drawn on your moniter, can you play unmodded Freelancer okay or do you have problems with it to.

i understand your headache

i can run an unmodded freelancer no problem, so i don't think its a graphics card problem, so i'll try starting at a different starting location

Did you get the bit about spawning at a wrongly named base? I use Opensp to playtest the mods different regions. If i was to try to spawn from a base and i spell the base wrongly, it dosen't crash to desktop. Instead it dumps me into the freeport 7 system and behaves exactly as you are saying.
Also, part of the single player story was removed when remaking liberty. If you are playing single player, you have to run the opensp for frontierspace.
Could you post up your:
missions\m13\m13.ini entries. Just the bit that looks like this:

Oh, it wasn't meant to work, it was just an example of the part of the file that was needed. It looks ok, you have the typical start and you are clearly running opensp ok. You are spawning at manhattan, so everything should work.

I downloaded and when opened to FLMM and got this error

Unable to load mod!
Error: This mod (Frontier space_ver1) doesn't contain any files under the DATA, DLLS, or BIN folders, so it wouldn't modify anything!

What can be done ?

Can you try opening up the mods folder and have a look in there? It was made for FLMM v1.3 and SDK v1.3. If you have both of them then there is no reason why the mod wouldn't work.
You could try renaming the mod as .zip and see if you can open it. It might just be a failed download.

Elite and Frontier are remembered fondly on the Spectrum and Amiga - guess my age from THAT !!

I've had a few CTD's (crash to desktop??) at several bases incl. Major Research Facility (in Zaonce/Diso?). Generally when clicking the shipyard icon...

However, I don't think I was running the SDK and hadn't gone for a vanilla install of the basic game. I've now done that and am looking forward to reaping the benefits of all your efforts.

Absolutely toptastic job - and the enhancements for the next release sound awesome (not a word I use lightly as a Brit)

Ok downloaded Frontierspace file leaving it named as zip file. Used winzip to extract now I have the ifso data files and opensp and the mp. I want to use opensp. So how do I merge the ifpso files with opensp or do I? Loaded opensp picked Zoner as starting place got a totally black screen. Unloaded mod then reloaded and picked Manhattan and now when I leave base it ctd. This is without the ifso fs datafiles btw. I gather they are needed for the game so I copied them to data file of opensp. I still ctd. Also installed SDK 1.3 and frontier space v 1.1.

Right, got it. In order to play single player you have to install the multiplayer mod first and then activate the opensp. The opensp is just a script and a few very small changes that do away with the story.
So, to get playing, i'll do the whole order:
01. Install SDK v1.3
02. Install FLMM 1.3 (might work on higher versions, i haven't tested)
03. Install the Frontierspace 1.1 multiplayer.flmod file. If you double click on the .flmod extension it automaically loads it into the FLMM start up list.
04. Install the Opensp files for Frontierspace
05. Close FLMM
06. Re-open FLMM again (just to avoid problems with it not updating)
07. Activate Frontierspace multiplayer (it might take a while)
08. If you want opensp, activate the opensp too and choose the options. Don't choose the starflier, there is a buggy loadout for that one.
09. Delete or move any saved games, the autosave and restart.fl from the saved game directory (their location is selectable from the FLMM drop down menus)
10. Right now you can play.

You were activating only the Opensp with means that you were spawning with faction and base entries that are not compatable with original freelancer.
You might want to have a brief look through some of the bugs found on this thread. Basically, New Liberty (Boston/Tenessee/Chicago) are a bit buggy, as is Beliati, California and quite a few others.
The good news is that the next version is not too long away.

thanks for clearing that up. I'm not a computer person. So I learn as I go. After thinking for awhile it dawned on me that I needed both as so you say.
