This is beta mod and all appears to be going ok at the moment, please give it a try and give us feedback on line. We will post to Lancers after minor tweaks have been made.

Yes, yes, I know! I'm very slow!

But I don't want to release a mod, which is bugged or not really finished (missing texts, same rumors again and again; All this should not be in a mod release). I hope you can understand this.

I already decided that the next version will have less additions (only 2-3 systems and 6-8 new ships, commodities, etc.), because during the last months I did have even less time to mod than before. Of course I will add many things to The Monkeys, but I need my time. Therefore I will probably make small steps and release many new versions but with less additions.

Do you aggree with this? Or would you like to wait a bit longer and have a new version with many additions?

I hope you are still waiting for the mod. I don't want to lose a fan like you, who supported me all the time!

For now I can say, that I have some problems with the new flyable capitalships. But I think I can solve them soon. So the next version will hopefully be out in about 2 or 3 months (Of course I try to be as fast as possible)!

Edit: I solved the problem with the capitalships. The mod now has two fully functional flyable capitalships (one for the Monkeys and one for the Robots).

Hi, this is Vader{MERCS.SFC.}, Im still scraping bits of Nomads from the underneath of this front-Portside Heavy Laser Cannon.Still very-much enjoying the 'Monkeys Mod ' , am eagerly awaiting your next mod.(Still into the 'some Npc's with life-pods' idea?i imagine you'd be pretty close to completing your next mod, but before you do ,could we please have some hints-&-tips on good ways to getting started ? )Thank you once again.

Hi Vader and good to see you!

I'm running out of time (school, driving license, etc.)

But I hope to be ready in about two months (maybe three, sorry).

The lifepod idea will be in the next version, but probably very basic. Only normal pirate pilots and Navy pilots without different ranks. The final version will have different ranks of Pilots, so you get a rookie pirate and a pirate ace. For the ace of course you get more money, but he also flies a better ship and has better weapons and skills. The same for the navy (captains, commanders, etc.)!

I hope you can understand that these advanced lifepod addition will probably not be in version 1.2, as I want some new systems, ships and commodities as main additions!

The Monkey system is still only half done, but I'm working on the Nomad system (strange structur. I like it very much)

For the start:

At first I decreased the difficulty/lengthy of the Fights (less Nanobots and Shieldbatteries), and especially of the first NPCs in NY. So the start is a bit easier now!

The second idea was, to release some savegames, in which you have more money, a better ship, or start at a different location (Planet Primus, Nomad outpost, etc.)!

A thing, which will not be in the next version, but in another future version is the possibility to choose if you want to start normal or with a better ship. Also in one future version will be some Light Fighters for advanced players (like Horus and Discoverer), which are very strong and can mount strong equipment, but are very expensive and can only be bought by advanced players (level restriction).

If you have any other ideas for starting (easier start, funny start, etc.) just post them here!

EDIT: IMPORTANT QUESTION!

Did you ever try to kill an Anubis MK2 and had any problems with damaging the hull? I encountere a bug in the current alpha of The Monkeys 1.2, but I'm not sure if it was there before. So can you kill an Anubis MK2 or had anyone of you the problem that the hull was not damaged and the shots of energy weapons were just fading through the ship?

Hi, this is Vader{MERCS.SFC.},i thought i was an ace taking on multiple Nomads & Monkeys at the same time, but i guess , if it isn't the added figures from the 3rd armour upgrade thats available,that possibly ,it may be a bug ?(not being able to take hull damage from multiple energy blasts from Battle-class ships and their escorts)i dont know jack about computers but maybe your right?

Sorry that I missed this major bug. It is already fixed in the next version!

Is it Ok if I add it only to the next version, or do you want a small patch for the current version for the time until the release of version 1.2?

Hi this is Vader{SFC.MERCS}, howzit going?,i just spoke to a friend who would like to know if it was possible to maybe create a vendor(only accessible once storyline is complete?) where you could purchase any ship in the game but have them at top peaked performance standard with a ' class ten ' hardware power generator ?( just like in the ' EQUALIZER ' mod , but only available to someone who has completed the storyline.)

Hi Vader!

I just added 48 new commodities to the game (around 20 of them are contraband to make smuggling more temtingly). Some of them are from other mods, as they fit in the mod and I have not the time to make so many commodities by myself. But I think this doesn't matter and of course some new are also made by myself. I only need to tweak the traderoutes for these commodities.

I also have some new music in the mod and I began working on the escapepod thing you asked for. Probably I will be able to implement the advanced version (One pilot for each faction in the game and with different ranks). Until now I make good progress on this!

To your friends idea: It sounds nice, but I'm not sure if this is possible. I will think about it, when I completed version 1.2!

So, I will release the next version by the 20th of February the latest. This is because I will again take part in an exchange program for three weeks then. So the mod will in any case be released before this starts!

Sorry King Lin!

I know this, because my vacations are also over then. But I probably need this time (During my vacation I naturally will have more time to mod).

AND, I said this is the latest date for the release. Maybe I will be finished some days before (I hope so)!

So, keep playing version 1.1!
