Oh thanks nameless. Anyway I just thought it was weird that you had a good weapon in the beginning which was better than the others.

Haven't heard from Reynen for some time now. Must be busy. Hope he achieves what he wants from the mod. I am playing the mod in SP and I am stuck on the mission in California minor where you have to escort those trains. Actually in battle right now and its very tough simply because the shields and armours of every ships are damn thick. I have 2 devastators and 2 eliminators and it takes quite a long time just to get rid of the enemy shields. Oh anyway I better stop griping. The mod is still not yet completed anyway. But I can see that the mod is in the right direction so far.

Also I wanted to explian WHY combat seems so hard for new people.

Remember weapons do HALF damage to shields. Avengers do 900 to the hull and 450 to shields.

Try this config for a dagger

4 avengers & 2 paralyzer missiles.

The missiles take down the shields FAST and the guns do a good job on the hull. I wont use eliminators because they fire fast,but do little damage. Use the big guns.

Also the dagger is a starter ship. It is weak. Try getting a saber with 10 guns & 4 paralyzers and then you will be telling me it is way to easy. You have to earn the powerful ships. This not meant to make people super powerful. If enemies are super easy in a dagger they will be nothing to you in a saber. The guns are already strong enough. Here are some numbers.

Dagger w/ 4 avengers. = 3,600 dmg per shot (4 * 900)
Dagger w/ 2 paralyzers = 50,000 shield damage (2 * 25,000)

Saber w/ 10 avengers = 9,000 dmg per shot (10 * 900)
Saber w/ 4 paralyzer = 100,000 shield dmg ( 4 * 25,000)

Dagger vs Liberty rogue
100,000 armor and shields
4 missiles (10 seconds) and fire for 35 seconds ( figured with 25% MISS
rate)

Saber vs liberty Rogue
100.000 armor and shields
4 missiles (5 seconds) and fire for 13 seconds ( figured with 25% MISS rate)

As you can see the battle is VERY easy with the saber. Hope this makes sense to everyone. Battle may seem hard at first but that is because you fly a piece of junk.

I made a ammo.mdl for your mod I will send it to you once I convert it and everything it's a mineral bomb see-through has a nice glimming look on it has black spike textures and it's core is a sparkly see through center I made it so it's better than a sunlayer make the area attack a slightly bigger sense it has spikes.
Make it a mine with more area dmg and a slightly more hull dmgmake it much weaker in shield dmg than a sunlayer also make it a mine heh burning or smoke behind this bomb won't look good and it needs to be faster than a sunlayer to this has to be a rare in your mod well it's up to you really all of this is but just my opinion in this but hopefully you'll mak eit at least a rare I'm making a ship (modeling) that shld drop it if I can get this ship done quickly then I will send both to you at the same time.

Hey Reynen;

For some reason I couldn't extract the attach from your e-mail. Not to worry, I d/l'ed the Zip version from your post and installed it by hand and everything worked fine.

The npc regen is good, you have to stay on the bogie to get him, if you slack he regens. Good, good, and good.

Just a thought, when you give npc equal damage, remember that it sometimes gets to be 8 to 1 in a fight.

Thanks for the reply Reynen. I gotta agree with you that the dagger is a starter ship. That was one of the reasons I didn't want to comment too much on the weapons being weak because I am still new into the game with your mod, ie haven't tried the stronger ships and weapon combos yet.
Regarding the AI shield regen, I like it. It makes it more realistic and challenging. If we could recharge our shields_and_fix our hulls why can't the AIs to a certain degree?
Anyway, its great to hear that you are working hard for_your_mod and there are people helping you in a way. Keep up the good work! BTW, I am assuming that the new file you uploaded fixes the readme only to show the correct version.

Just to let you all know, I've been testing the mod and found that if a player is inside a station when it blows up, then trys to undock, it crashes the server hope theres a fix for this........

I really appreciate any work on mods and the graphics and weapons etc. since the game is boring and much too easy in original.

But I really can't damage any ship at all with a cheap 2000$ mission when I take my 20.000$ to buy a ship and some of them 5000$ weapons at the beginning.

Is it very hard to balance the game or as a complete noob, have I missed anything?

Any help would be appreciated and many thx in advance...

This mod has done nothing but seriously mess up my game, unbalanced, no new real fighters, etc

maybe you could explain why after i have uninstalled your mod i cant connect to any servers anymore?

i replaced all files with the backed up ones and it wont work

Here's a thought,
Everyone knows that to be able to buy certain things you have to be at a certain faction rating with them. I don't know if this is do-able but why not make it something a little more linear. What I mean is that the higher percentage or lower you are faction wise to a groupe, the cheaper or more expensive something is. It would be cool if you could keep the same system in but add multiple levels to it.

I.E. (fictional becasue I don't know the names and who sells what)
To say buy a lvl 10 Weapon from the LPI, you have to be 50% up the good scale, and they sell it to you for, say, 100K but why not so that the higher you get up the good scale, all the way up to 99% the price keeps getting cheaper. Not by much but some say 15K.
What do you think?

If I could just add in one little, tiny suggestion: enabling the locked jump holes/gates! For multiplayer this is both serverside and clientside (from what I've read) so it would be perfect for this mod. The information for this can be found here[url

Did you expect to be uber? Did you exepct to have 100000000000000 credits from the start?

Did you read the GD readme file! Buy a humpback and do the trade route in the 1.6 readme file. You will have loads of cash in no time enough to buy a good ship.

Use paralyzer missiles to take out shields. Use avengers for guns.

In this mod you must earn stuff. It is not hard. Please do not complain since you are new and have not even bothered testing it yet.

Do you realize how much code that would take? You have over 30 factions, each with 100%. Multiply 30 x 100 and you have 3000 different prices with all the different factions. I dont have that kind of time.

PS. To the person who keeps crashing my MP server. You've done it 10x now today. Even had to reboot once. This is a COMPANY server. This seems intentional. If you keep this up I will ban your IP and press hacking charges against you. I'm NOT keeping it up so people can hack it.

To be honest, I've put in ANTI-cheat code. I also scan your task manager to see what programs you are running and boot you if you are running blacklisted programs. I also do this to help tell me what might have happened if you crash or run into a problem. By logging into my server you accept this. Don't like it, don't log on.

Pretty soon I will start posting offending IP's to this board. Rules be damned, I don't mess around.

Unbound: Do a restart that fixes those hard crashes for me. All mods crash until they are perfected. I remember those Quake 1 TF beta crashes..and unbalanced doh the sniper with standard speed strafe...ouch


Reynen: Seems I randomly crash after docking so many times/online with server a certain amount of time. In your MP server. Its only happened 3 time so could just be chance. I'll try to see if i have enough time to list all the varibles when this happens hopes its not just me. NOT a COMPLAINT THO :-)

This mod would be really good if it were more realistic.

Did I load the mod wrong? Did I load a bunch of other Mods that have made it so fast?

Everything is going so fast I get bored before I can even get enemy sheilds knocked down. Are you supposed to go 300k at full impulse. Its the same fight over and over.. and over again.. the same 20 min dogfight on the rollercoaster ride from hell. why so fast.

Justice Mk 1 to do the same damage as the Devastator. Its actually stronger.

Why do I need to start with a gun with a hull damage rate of 1500 when I go to buy the devistator and it has lower damage rate, lower refire rate higher energy consumption rate.

- All ships both player and NPC have roughly the same shields, armor, and power

What is the point of boosting a guns hit points from 15 to 1500 and then boosting the ship hit points from 1300 to 130,000. (not actuall but you get the meaning)


the game play was fine. cool to have a little stronger gun to start with to , better to have one or two really lucrative trade routes hidden around. The point is not to be .. what do you call it.. uber.... but to earn stuff

how bout a tie fighter that doesn't look like its about to blow up. even cooler if you could add the White Star

Lots of cool ideas.. like the targeting for assasination idea. I like the concept of destroying all bases effecting your rep much less being able to do it. Even cooler if you could turn down hottie Juni and buy your own ship, then go out and join the pirates and order from the start.

Heres a thought. instead of raising the amount of 0's behind everything.. how bout lowering the bribes.. I start witn 20,000 even and the first bribe is 60k Bribe your way into Rheinland and attack the liberty ships.....

Take a Freighters put a battleship skin on it with a bunch of hardpoints and command a battleship. or a planet that looks like the Deathstar that you can land on.

I know I'm being a whineass and your going to trash me for it.. but that the fck cuss.. you took a killer concept and jacked it by adding a buch of 0000's behind everything. But I am trying to be constructive. More content is the idea.
