I did a small test of how much polys FL can take care: well, it has no problems with 8k mesh. I dunno if it can deal with more as Milkshape has a very strikt poly limit

guys, just don't care bout M$. freelancer simply has to be changed into privateer2 (a true sequel to the original game, not "the darkening" trash). privateer is my absolute favourite. gotta figure out how to suit my new pc for playing The Privateer again (amd 1.8ghz, winxp). suppose, i'll have to get another hd and run win98se on it and get me some processor slow-down program..

oh, yeah - magey, thank you for the remastered music files!

afaik, you don't need a processor slowdown prog at least But yea, win9x or just DOS will be necessary, either on another hard drive or another partition.

Oh, and if it is still needed, I have screenshots of all of the system maps. They came in handy creating gemini for Vegastrike

Oh sure, now that I've actually finished getting the rest of the nav maps Mamiya shows up with them (mumbling under breath ). Actually, if you have the maps for Delta, Beta, Gamma, Delta Prime and Eden, I won't have to actually play through the game and can get started helping out Stryfe with the systems.

Also, the map that came with WCProphecy shows a new system called Gemini in Humboldt with jumps to Troy and Junction (and to Aquila in Sol Sector). Where did that come from?

Dwight

ps - MY nav maps (giving Mamiya the evil eye) are on the pages listed below:
Clarke
Fariss
Humboldt
Potter

LOL Dwight
muwhahahahahahaha
*cough*
well then we do we get started?

Oh yeah the clashes with you co-ords were;

Leeds = Br04 = 2, 3 = Hm05 = Prosepe
Edinburgh = Br06 = 0, 10 = Hm06 = Freyja
Omega-7 = Bw03 = 7, 12 = Hm09 = Padre

Shall we just move them all a little ?
I'll leave that up to you. Cos at the moment im busy getting the ids tags sorted for all the systems

Blockade Point Tango 13, 3
Mah'Rahn 14, 2
Nitir 11, 3
Surtur 11, 5
Valhalla 3, 5
Freyja 0, 9
Padre 7, 11
Prasepe 2, 8
Auriga 12, 12 (moved to accomodate New Detroit)
New Detroit 12, 11
Newcastle 8, 10

If anybody finds conflicts I missed, please post them.

Geesh. Seeing that ol'e nav computer from Privateer almost brought a tear to me eye....

I've got a dual boot sys., (XP/98se) but can't seem to get the friggin sound to work for Privateer in dos!!! Anyone know how to fix that? Yes this is yet another out of topic question. But then again...not really.

I will deffinetly play this mod. Miss the ol'e centurion. OOh...and the quad steltek guns...ooh and dual proton torpedo launcher...oh yeah and ...CONTRABAND... yummy.

haha sorry about that. Wish I'd thought of sending them earlier

I do feel for you though, I did all the gemini systems in Notepad for Vegastrike. Kinda wouldn't want to repeat it. Dunno if there is an easy way to convert them, I'm really not sure how systems are defined in FL.

Oh, and by the way, Privateer runs in Windows now:

By the way, I updated the file I put up earlier. This one includes several changes, including Privateer-style weapons. Keep in mind it's nowhere near finished, and I'd recommend against downloading it except for reference purposes. You can find it here : http://www.geocities.com/gtvconflt/Priv001.zip Please don't clog the bandwidth : (

OK just a little status report,
Things in the system generation camp are going well
Dwightman and I have had a powow about a few bits and pieces and the construction of the humboldt quadrant has begun, and with it the inception of the gemini sector
Dwight has put the time and mapped out the co-ords of all of the systems so they can co-exist with the current FL universe
All im prepared to say at this stage is, as we are learning as we go its still slow, but progress is being made
