Hmm I've been talking with Reynen (or exchanging a few emails with him at any rate), and it seems MS / DA are packing major hissy fits about his mod, as it changes so many things in the game, their main concern is apparently the modifications made to the dll's. He has been warned about what mods he makes as they might interfere with MS / DA future development of the game...

My Point here being, that if Reynen's mod is such a big concern, will ours also fall into this , 'be careful what you change or we'll see you in court' , category?

Our mod basically , (eventually) is going to change everything about the game...

microsoft at its best...

first they release an unfinished game and then theyre upset that ppl try to add the things they were promised?

they should rather be HAPPY that ppl try to increase the LIVETIME of this game.

gimme a bomb and ill do the rest...

Wah.
Microsoft can gripe all it wants, but the fact is, the mod is being developed to support the game, not the other way around. If the upcoming patch changes too much, the mod will be altered to support that version. That is the way of mods.

As you can see, it is VERY colourful at the moment. The model and skinmesh are done just need to make a skin.

More people willing to sacrifice themselves to the greater need of the mod
What I'm actually wanting is a person or persons to give me a hand making the systems for the mod, there are 64 of them in total and the job is huge.

I wish I could help, but... I have a lot of ships that has to be converted... my next one will be Rapier MK2/Bearcat/Banshee.

Whenever I get screenshots of the remaining system nav maps (I have 15 to go), I'll give you a hand with the systems (actually, I'm just stalling until the FLSDK team releases their Visual System Editor ). Btw, we need to come up with a plan for which systems are connected with jump gates and which ones with jump holes (and which ones with both). Oh, and here is a list of the systems' sector coordinates for the universe.ini file:

At least, it's not the way I'm approaching it ... anyway, unless MS threatens to bring us to court, I'm planning on pretty much ignoring them.

Orion is looking good Incidentally, the guns are in the wrong spot. The guns are mounted on the two things sticking out from the side of the cab (I didn't model any in), so please don't chop off those cylinder/cone things on the front..

guess my (extremely simple) skin wasnt quite good enough? (believe it or not it was a copy of Origin's original skin, which was.. simple) heh I do suck at skinning. When you get a decent skin for it I'd love to have it. As it is now, all it needs is a peace symbol

excellent i cant say how much of a relief it is not to be having to do the systems by myself

LOL Yeah I'd love to stall for as long as it takes for FLSDK to release their system creator as well BUt errrm I'm not gonna hold my breath :S

Maybe thats something I can look at. I'm in my first year of taking computer graphics design at school. I've never done any textures for a model but I'd be good for me to learn. Any sites I can go look at that'd show me what I need to do to make a texture for an object?
