Uh, someone may have asked this and I missed it, but do the TIE's replace any other ships, or are they standalone? Also, what are the classifications?

No.

Just replace what is sold at a particulare Ship Store....AFAIK....

IE...Tie replaced Patriot...But Patriot still in game.

Superb work Rapid, i've just added the ships to my game and they look awesome. I'm a Star Wars fan too and I've played the X-wing, Tie Figher and XWA series since the very begining.
You know the best weapons to fit in a Tie fighter, Interceptor or Defender is the StealthBlade Turret, since it has the right colour and speed of the SW Tie blasters...very sweet combo...). I can't wait to kill some Nomads in a Tie Defender!
I'm curently trying to make a model of an X-wing, I have the Milkshape model, and i've added the hardpoints but i can't figure out how to add materials...maybe U can help? I'd appreciate some sugestions....
Great work again. Keep it up, maybe go for some other ships...Tie Avenger, Millenium Falcon, Outrider...that'll be nice.

I can't get this to run, it keeps crashing when I leave manhattan.

I am running it from a clean install.

Sorry to hear that, but I do need need information from you to be of help.

If its a clean install, then the ships should start off at Huston, why are they at Manhanntan?

If you customized it some how, send me the files that you changed and let me take a look to see if i can find the problem is.

if you can launch from Huston and fly all the way to mahanttan and land, it should be working fine...

As for texturing in milkshape:

1. create new material, rename it and load up your .tga texture file into that new material
(click on where it says <none>;
2. select the group of mesh that you want to texture at "Groups".
3. go back to the material menu, then select the material you want to assign then presss "Assign"
3. Then go to the top bar -> Windows -> Texture Coordinate Editor->select the group in the blank pull down box in the TCE -> select a orientation -> remap
Play around with the options inside TCE until you get your texture the way you like it.

Thats it, have fun

Hey there! This is really for rapid, but anybody else too: I was searching through the net yesterday and I started thinking about the old x-wing v. tie fighter game, and realized that what we need are two things: Rebel ships (duh ) and a TIE Assault Gunboat. Those things were badass. I'm actually looking into modelling my own Gunboat, but I don't want to infringe on something you're working on because you've already done such a fabulous job. Sooo... what's next on the list?

First of all, i feel kind of sad that the Starwars TC has been put on hold until furthur notice. Nonetheless, I am confident that it will soon become a reality. Until GAG can get thing sorted out, i shall continue to build more ships so you guys can test fly them for me

perhaps its time to get my hands dirty again.
I am currently looking into three ships:

Imperial Class Star Destroyer
Firespray (not THE Slave I but same type of ships, only Boba have Slave I and i am not Boba )
MandalMoters StarViper (again, not THE Virago, but same type of ship).

this batch of there will take longer then the TIEs both on modeling and texturing,
As usual, i will release them as soon as I get them done.

it's probably not possible but having the wings of the starviper move in order to possition its thrusters correctly in relation to where it is going would be nice. though i doubt it would be possible to animate the ship.

If I might suggest something, do the ISD next. That way, we could make use of it as a dockable base for the TIE's... would be kind of neat. *dreams a little further*

Oh, and with the current version of the .cmp exporter, animations are not possible. HCl mentioned in one of his threads that *maybe* a future version will contain this feature.

T448 ... out.

LOL been long time since I replied here but I knew about Milkshape I been modeling for 3 years but I just quit most of the time before I finish never come sout right all the tutorials SUCK I follow them I got tutorials from the homepage of milkshape and also by searching I know the background vertex face thing the anti-clockwise always messes up with me on ships. I can't seem to cave in the left or right side so I can attach them this would all be better with a teacher so to be speak (rapid) by my side or voice chat room lol or just a plain chat room I do anti clockwise with vert's all I get is a messy triangle not connected at the top
or something like that. I'm not great in just mesh modeling since there aren't
any tutorials that I've found even if I do their messed up links. I tried the face vert for a human body they are much easier than modeling a ship since you need top, side, back, and front modeling was always fun I liked trying very much till tutorials and me started hating eachother I still do I just need a (live-person to help me incase I do this wrong and they can point out what I did) I went over the tutorials again and again I event contacted most of the makers of these tutorials they never give you a informative reply.
I would e-mail you but your e-mail addy wont' work.

Rapid,

First off i have to say that this mod is awesome! Great modelling dude!

Now, on to the problem. I can fly the TIE's in-game, but they are invisible on takeoff, landing and other cutscenes. I'm using the TIE pack for FLMM i downloaded from the reactor link. i checked the shiparch.ini and confirmed that the LODranges were set to 0, 999999, 999999, 999999, 999999.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
