I'll try to have mine up by tonight. It's fairly short but I may be delayed until about midnight my time.

Hate to say it, ww2, but no one would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.

nice update konn. looks like things are going to get interesting =D (even if no one trusts gabe =( hehe, i understand why though)

Post Sun Oct 09, 2005 5:06 pm

Oh, things are about to get VERY interesting, trust me.

Well, now I have read everything I've missed (due to my crapped graphic card, I've got a new one now) and I have to say that it's splendid! Tummen upp!

I might write something this or next week. Looks like events have gone rapidly. I just have to catch up.

Post Mon Oct 17, 2005 9:35 am

Well I've updated my bit. I'll wait for the reactions, both IC and OOC.

Hmm... just a thought, is it possible tat we'll see a Corsair-Outcast reunion of sorts? They're basically the same people (just like Hebrews and Arabs, well almost) and now they have a common problem. Both of them has got their bases destroyed. The Outcasts ave lost Cali and the Corsairs have lost Cadiz.

Post Mon Oct 17, 2005 11:51 am

The thing is, there's no real motivation for them to do so. In point of fact, the hint is that Outcasts were behind the attacks in Omega-5, which directly whacked a Corsair base.

Post Tue Oct 18, 2005 9:30 am

Was it the Outcasts? I thought it was the Covenant or the Nomads.

Dear all,
I posted a somewhat lengthy update.

Anywho, I hope the way I depicted Gabriel and Talon was accurate. If not, please e-mail me with any suggested changes!

I've deliberately written in several opportunities to link the current action on Planet LA for other cast members, firstly, HK, Nikolai and co received Rob's warning. Would they be tracked too? Then there's Jake Talon. I tried to keep the story as close to his initial mission parameters as possible. I recall a prior meeting between them both much earlier in the story, both men declared a dislike for each other then, I doubt the situation had changed much since. This lack of trust was to be the major downfall with Talon's plan.

However, that doesn't mean it's a total failure. After all, provided Rob stays out of sight, it's likely he'll be presumed dead, leaving just Tanya's "death" unwarranted (Kress' orders). I thought Jake would have attempted a warning of sorts, if ww feels this is unaligned with Jake's character or the manner of their meeting wasn't quite what you had in mind, please let me know. Code suggested that you'd be writing me at some point but I couldn't wait so long to post

Finally, regarding Neder's excellent post, does anyone have ideas about how to link the current Omega / Junker / unknown destroyer of bases story arc with what's going on? I suspect a faction has managed to leverage the power of one artefact, given the Corsairs are massively underpowered right now, I could well imagine they'd be seeking a way back to restore the balance of power?

Some food for thought.

nice post Athena =D one thing though

Tanya took the lift up to their room where she promptly shed her swimsuit, showered and dressed. She couldn't wait to get out of the hotel and be alone. As much as she loved Rob, sometimes their relationship was too intense at times . A result of their personalities and passion for life, she guessed.

maybe remove the "at times" i highlighted, or edit it, it doesnt read well. otehr than that, nice post I'll try to get my update up this weekend.... with my copious amounts of schoolwork and college apps I cant promise anything though....

The prevailing assumption is that the Omega-5 thing was done to test new weapons, and muddy the waters by making it look like the Corsairs and Red Hessians went after each other - which is the angle we're going for by having Outcasts trying to steal the detritus from Junkers.

Right. Good update, athena

Hey folks.

Athena, great update. I managed to get my hands on it last night due to Konn's generosity. You portrayed Jake's character well.

So, who's writing next? I've heard Wilde was going to, and I haven't seen an update from him in a bit. I'd also like to write about part of this from Jake's perspective as well, so maybe I'll do that after Wilde posts his next update.

If anyone has any questions about what Jake is going to do next, email me. I have worked up a plan with Code and HK that I think should work out pretty well. And Wilde, if you are writing the next one, could you email me your draft before you post? Thanks.

ww, I'd defintely be interested to see your post from Jake's (real) perspective. As a narrator of his actions, I was only able to describe what Rob would have seen and a deeper look at Jake's psyche would be great

Regarding Gabriel, I wasn't sure how to portray him, so gave him a fleeting cameo instead (safe option).

Konn: Thanks. So, presumably if the Outcasts are the true 'baddies'..Juan has control of the 'weapon'..?

Ps: ww, why don't you go next?

So the the Omega-5 genocide was due to a (Covenant?) weapons test that went wrong? In the beginning I thought it was these disembodied "souls" that scoured the whole system of life.

Just a thought why it wouldn't be Outcasts. If we look into the game (which this fanfic is based on) we can see that the Outcasts DO NOT use any Überschlagschiff vom Schicksal. Even if they would have the knowledge of how the construction of such an overwhelming battleship they wouldn't have the necessary materials. Well why? Because they live in the northern parts of the Edge Nebula where it's very unlikely that one will find enough Überstein (I'll call this reflecting stone Überstein) to build anything like that. When I speak of Überstein I mean stone of such material as that immense pyramid was built in.

Om jag inte är helt ute och cyklar, then this Covenant where some sort of possesed humans? The bad counterpart of the Ta'Gue'Led? So I would presume it was them. Just a thought.

And about your update athena, BRAVO! It was really, really good. I actually popped some popcorn just because it was so good. But I think it a little to much James Bond about it.

Post Thu Oct 20, 2005 7:10 am

*laughs*

Neder, if you thought that particular update was action-oriented, I happily refer to read my story that was the beginning of this 'monster'!

My style is quite visually descriptive and I aspire to help the reader clearly see kinetic movements in their mind. Besides, we are writing a fantasy story, a little cinematic license is called for occasionally! lol

I could have written: "Rob escapes using all the skills at his disposal," but that's just not me

One of my favourite things about our RPG, is the variety of ideas, styles, focus and exploration of each cast members character.

Ps: James Bond is british. He's a good hero :p
Pps: I actually thought Rob's escape was closer to Mission Immpossible :p
