perhaps a small disclamimer in the first post would be good, but at the same time, it can draw people into it who arn't necissarily at the maturity level needed to understand and see the fic as a whole for what it is. Rob and Tanya have been sculpted mevelously. they're believeable, they have their strenghts, but they suffer from the reprocussions of their line of work. I think anyone would be hard pressed to fine another character as well developed as these two on this board. they ahve developed into more than simply characters of a fan fic for those of us involved, and for the readers, Im sure they're captivated, I know i was when I was reading and still am. also the way the fic is written I think it would, for the most part, weed out those who couldnt handle these subjects before they get to them. this is a part of life, and as the years go by it has become less and less taboo. yes, this is a family site, but a large portion of the people here are very intellegent, mature people. smart enough to avoid subject that cause riots. I for one think it fits the progression of the Fiction perfectly (and if I may say so, about time =P)

anyway thats my rant, I completel understand where you're comming from jacob, but i think that the way it is written, those we would be worried about wouldnt completely understand what was going on.

What about Nikolai and Konn???

Post Tue Oct 04, 2005 3:30 pm

I think by and large everybody's either OK with 'em or doesn't want to say nothin'.

I have no problems with them =D. Im a bit of a hopeless romantic, so any romance is nice to see, keeps my hopes alive. like I said earlier, this is a fic for mature people, and the people who read this are hopefully openminded enough to accept it is a completely natural thing that has existed as long as humanity has, and probably longer

Again, just want to clarify that I have no issues against the inclusion of the scenes, but knowing the site's moderation and administration after having been on this site for a long time, I know that if they stumble across it, we may get a stern warning or possibly a lock and request that the RPG get moved to a private forum.

I'm just offering a warning, not a criticism of any sort.

FA - Thanks for the compliments. They mean a lot.

well they're well deserved, you two just string the words together so well, you make it look effortless, nothing looks like you were trying too hard to make something fit. Wish I could do it so well =D

Aw. That's a very sweet compliment. Thanks, FA

Code, myself and many others spend a lot of time e-mailing to ensure we correctly capture our character's interactions, continuity and consistency.

That's a lot of words beginning with 'c' lol

So long as people continue to enjoy playing and reading the RPG, we go on!

As an added reminder, not too much in the way of steamy romps please - Barbara Cartland, this forum, is not!
Try to keep the action down a bit, be less descriptive and more suggestive instead (read that as imply what goes on - so no 50 descriptions about what is pummeling what...). Whilst a good old fashioned romance can add to a story, some of the descriptions seem unnecessarily gratuitous.

That way we can avoid complaints - and we don't want to have to moderate creative writings at all, you should moderate your content yourselves - being aware of your audience.

Is the current level of descriptive romance / violence:

Suitable
Borderline - acceptable
Borderline - please change it just in case
Unacceptable

..?

Thanks

By way of explaining my own rationale, granted there's few romance scenes in FL the game, there is however plenty of violence and the game itself is rated in England as '15'.

The last '15' rated film I saw had plenty violence, and plenty of raw flesh too lol

If the scope of TLR caters for an audience younger than '15', that's fine. A rating per above would be a helpful guideline.

Question for Chips. Which thread have you or other mods been watching? This one? The game thread itself? Both? Neither?

I had a theory about all this, and now I'm wondering if I'm right or wrong.

athena, codename et. all....

Fan fiction is a popular part of this site, no question. Far be it for any of us to want to squelch such impressive creativity that has been display in this part of the forums. But on occasion, we do have to do our job and that is to moderate. l'll keep it simple...

1 - This is a family oriented site labeled as such. We're proud of this distinction and try very hard to keep it that way. For some general guidelines, it's best you read for yourself what we try to watch for... IRCA vocab
2 - It has always been said as a litmus test if you can NOT say it to you own mother it doesn't belong here.
3 - Yes, we are being asked by some visitors to monitor this part of the site a little more closely.

We understand different cultures around the world look at things differently and what may be offensive in some places isn't in others. Since this is a global community, just try to err on the side of caution and everything will be fine.

Err..ok!

I 'think' that's clear. Since you haven't moderated our posts thus far, but given recent romantic content, I would say we've probably reached the limit of where we can go with our descriptions.

Which is fine for me as I don't intend to go any further in terms of detail, it's not Mills & Boon y'know lol

Thanks for the prompt response.

And fellow cast members, can we get back to writing posts for the game (if you haven't already :p ) ?
