Privateer: The Reckoning MOD Beta 2.4 Feedback
Here you can find news, get help and comment about the Privateer / Wing Commander Total Conversion called ?Privateer: The Reckoning? and accompanying Mods
Are those ship models on the front page from DriftingGhost13b's Privateer Ship Pack the same as in your mod? If not, does he have some that you need?

1) No, those aren't from our mod.
2) I considered using all of them, because they have cockpits, which ours don't.
Unfortunately, they're not in-scale with each other, or, with our ships:
The Taurus and Orion are the same size as the Talon, and all three are the size of our Orion.
And, IMHO, our Talon's and Taurus look better.
The Centurion, IMHO, doesn't look as good as ours, and it's bigger than our Thunderbolt VII.
The Galaxy is about the size of a Rheinland Gunboat, and the cockpit is not quite right on the sides.
The Gladius seems a bit boxy, to me.
Not that I'm knocking his mod...
It's a nice collection of ships, and it works quite well.
It's just that, after playing our mod 10+ hours/day, the ships in his mod don't quite feel/look right.

The term "BETA" in the name should have told you that it had bugs.
The mod, and Freelancer, has so much in it, that finding some bugs is almost impossible for one person, me, to do by themselves.
A "Beta" release, oftimes, is the only way to find some of them.

Some were dispensing Liquor, Plaything Magazine, Wood, Appliances, and Robot Servants.

I gotta say this mod keeps getting better and better. I'm looking froward to it's completion.
I do have a small issue to raise however. I've attempted to fly every ship currently available in the 2.4 build, and most seem to fit the feel of their original games. Except that is for the Banshee Mk II. It seems to me that to counter balance it's speed and manueverability it's weapon max levels should be reduced. The Banshee in it's current configuration with a balanced spread of generators, shields and guns out classes every single fighter in the game.
Don't get me wrong. I loved the Banshee in WC IV, but it's gone from being an older light fighter to a light fighter with very heavy fighter weapons capacity.
Just my humble opinion of course.

I got permission to use the ship in our mod, but, as he set it up.

Waaahh... *drool* I love the Centurion...
However it seems that the words on the side are somewhat backwards and covered up by the wing (it still looks sexy/deadly) but that's just FYI.
By the way, Warzog, you were right about the FP7 scene, awsome job! But stupid Trent keeps lying to people about losing his ship there (I bet he was trying to scam Lonnigan out of $1,000,000)
Wow, the mod is pretty tough. It's as tough as Privateer (Damn missiles keep knocking out my shields and destroying my guns)! But there are like three Kilrathi Factions and one of them (used to be outcasts I think) fly Banshees. That and the fact that Kilrathi pilots have names like Sam Jones and Bob Fentworth, that is just confusing. Can you give the Kilrathi more, um, alien names?
Could you balance the resale value of some equipment? $3,000 resale for a $20,000 gun doesn't seem fair (unless you have a reason due to repair costs and salvage profit).
I hope you can get the Capital ships back in the mod, and the fact that I find liquor in asteroids is pretty wierd...

EDIT: I kinda wanted to see what the Orion looked like when the pilot was drunk in the FP7 cinematic.
Also is the Stilleto skin supposed to look, eh... ....Crappy?
All the Kilrathi ship skins look excellent except the Jalthi (sic, the one that is the heavy fighter in privateer) that is sold at junker bases. It's skin looks really bland compared to the others. But I certainly couldn't do better, so whatever...
