I was fighting some rogues after they disrupted a trade lane, and of course, they launch their mines. I maneuvered around and weared down this one rogue so that as i was coming off a turn, a mine hit the rogue square on and he exploded.
Another good moment was coming out of a cloud and seeing the four planets of Omicron Alpha for the first time. I said to myself something like 'wow'. And in general, exploring the Border Worlds was good for me.

The first time I ever used a torpedo. It was around mission 6 or 7 in the SP campaign, and I had traded in my Javelin missile launcher which wasn't helping much anymore for a Starkiller launcher.
The first enemy ship I faced after that, we face head on, start shooting, I hit the torpedo button... BOOM!
Torpedoes have been my favorite weapon ever since. (I've taken out three Bounty Hunter Hammerheads in one "jousting" pass with Tizonas and Sunslayers. Shoot-shoot-BOOM, shoot-shoot-BOOM, shoot-shoot-BOOM.)
Other "wow" moments were seeing the triple-sun Sigma system, the red-giant Omega system and limping over to Solarius station out of nanobots, seeing the pirate war system in Omega-5.
Oh, and another great moment was when I was entering New Tokyo system between missions in the SP campaign. While heading for the trade lane I scanned some adjacent ships to have something to do. One was full of Gold. I'd never pirated before and wanted to see how it works. Started shooting the transport, and the instant it exploded I hit B and jumped into the trade lane. Didn't even see what I'd picked up until I landed on New Tokyo, but it was 30 units of gold and I was suddenly $40,000 richer.

Two moments come to mind, actually.
The first was when, during the (SPOILER ALERT) Tohoku Mission, after we had joined up with the "fleet" and was going in for the generators, we were cruising through the clouds. I notice a list of red ships appear on the contact list, but hten it was too late. All 25 or so ships, with me in the lead, stream out into a small clearing in the clouds. In front of us, a wall of hostile ships, in back of me, a wall of friendly ships. By the time we had all dissingaged our cruise engines, the firing had started. Red lasers going one way, green the other, the two walls closing in, me at the head leading the charge into enemy lines, ohh i wish i could have gotten a more cinematic view. After the walls collided all you could see were wings of fighters breaking off to pursue their targets. It was great.
THe next was when I went hunting for nomad weapons beyond Crete. I returned through the jumphole (in an Anubis) into a wing of nomads. By the time i was at Crete, i had no shields batts or nanobots, and was one wing down. I hauled a$$ outta that radioactive cloud of death.
If only you could see what I have seen through your eyes

Two moments:
1. Seeing a certain Dyson Sphere for the first time
2. Scoring my first kill against a Sabre patrol in a decked out Patriot(and yes, I saw that screenie posted a little ways up...nice to see someone else who takes an interest in the little critter). Incredible feeling of victory to defeat one of the four highest-level ships in one of the lowest.
Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

Blasting my way through Sigma 19, and Omicron Alpha and Beta in a Drake just for kicks. Not as cool as doing it in a patriot, admittedly, but still fun. No, I wasn't friendly with the Outcasts or Corsairs. And no, I didn't necessarily know where I was going! I got some nice artifacts, too...
I have never been so glad to see a Zoner base before (Freeport 10)!
Now I just have to try the Corsair side of the galaxy....

Started a clan recently.
Honourable venture.
Not the bullying type.
Small tolls to pass through Omic Gamma. Get you honour guard and protection. You know the sort of thing.
One non noob refused to pay. I was charging him I think $50 and he was L25. I know this is nothing, but it's fun right.
Anyway. The guy docked with home planet, whilst i'm trying to explain that he couldn't do this. Clearly he was well up for it, taunting me left right and centre. Calling me and my clan everything under the sun. I politely informed him that failure to pay would be a BAD idea, but he wouldn't have any of it. I'd docked to repair, and by the time i'd left to rekindle our little tet-a-tet, he'd left the system heading north.
I began the chase which, if you've ever been a bounty hunter is real hard. You know which system they're in, but you don't know where they're going. This for me is the real challenge, and therefore the real fun part. I'll try and cut this short. I chased him through dresden and the other Rhineland systems, made some bad calls, getting futher and further behind.
suddenly I realised he ws heading back to NY.
This is bad, as the server rules allow sanctuary to all outside manhatten. I must profess I was shaking with adrenaline. You must realise that this fella is taunting all the way. I knew the odds were stacked against me. BIG TIME. all the guy had to do was stop somewhere anonymous or dock, and i'd never know where he was.
But he kept moving on system by system. getting closer to NY.
Finally he hit NY, i calculated I was about 30 secs behind him when he went thru JG. but that's a lot of time to make up.
I hit NY, knew the quickest route to Manhatten and sped thru tradlanes towards Westpoint. Upon reaching the academy, i knew i'd lost my mark. This next trade lane journey was unstoppable, and the end was his sanctuary.
I turned to leave. Really pissed, but buzzing from the chase. There he was, sitting under the acamdemy. In all the excitement I hadn't even checked my immediate vicinity.
Spaced him. It was miraculous. Even the Mark was impressed with the Tenacity shown.

When i first decided to be a pirate. i went to the leeds system and destroyed just about anything that came off the planet or out of a trade lane. i did this for about 2 hours. in the end, i was bright green with 9/10 of every criminal faction in the universe. not to mention the miles of loot...
