Welp, haven't been playing long enough to have anything REALLY incredible happen but...

Once while dogfighting a pack of Corsair centurions I rammed one on the underside of its starboard wing. The wing snapped off... right where my ship hit it, and I got to watch the centurion and its amputated wing fly away in either direction.

Of course their wings snap off all the time, but it was really cool to see it happen that way

Ever get the feeling... you're standing on plastic?

First, finishing that darn race.

Ok, just kidding on that one.

I am in Kusari space, in between missions and before I join the Blood Dragons. Accepted a pick-up job to clear some sector of Golden Chrysants with Naval support.

In the middle of the dog fight, a Naval LF and my Drake are pursuing a bashed up GC. The Navy is on his tail and I am coming in from my left, perpendicular to him, guns blazing just behind the GC's exhaust.

At that moment, the GC pops a mine.

I hit it.

Bye bye, GC fighter.

being able to dodge fire from Hacker daggers in a humpback of all things

Courage isn't the ability to fly head on into the jaws of death with an arrogant smile. Its the ability to run away from a couple of Xenos and face the laughter.

I think I may have mentioned this some time back, so I'll try and give the short version. A friend and I decided to do some scouting. He was flying a Saber, I was flying a Drake. We jumped to Omega-47(?) and were immediately set upon by Corsairs. In the space of a couple heartbeats, my friend's ship went piff - mostly from damage taken while waiting for the jumphole animation to end. Myself, I ducked and weaved through the throng, using asteroids for cover, and afterburner to inch away from them.

In all of the confusion, I got completely disoriented. I never had a chance to sit and set up a waypoint back to the jumphole because I was under constant attack. The best I managed to do was flip up the nav-map, take a quick peek at my heading, and adjust my course a little. I had no idea if I was above or below the jumphole. During this excitement, my friend popped into the sector twice more, and despite a valiant battle, got waxed both times.

Finally, I had enough. I went on the offense - my little drake versus Corsair Titans and Centurions. I kicked their collective butts. I finally got some breathing room, laid in a course, and jumped back to Omega-11. A bunch of Corsairs attacked me. I killed all of them as well, while radiation ate at my ship components. I can't tell you how many enemy ships I fought against and killed, the HUD had a scroll bar listing them all.

A more recent high for me came when I finally got my hands on my dream ship, the Bretonia Gunship, thanks to the Rebalance Mod.

Being told at the very end to go seek employment. That was pretty cool.
I also had a nice little dust up in a Dagger against four Hawks. I thought for some reason I needed to go to Kepler for a class 4 shield and got lane hacked. It took a LONG time to kill all four but I managed it. Got my shield and took my narrow behind back into Liberty space.

When playing the campaign the second time through, this time with mods, I got to the race Hovis mission and forgot I had the 1600 cruise speed mod on. The first lap was a total shambles. I tried to get back to the Hood to save the game and then exit the game to turn the mod off, but it wouldn't let me dock, so I thought to hell with it and did the second lap. I must have traveled about 3 times the total length of the system I was looping that many times around the gates. Then came the final gate and when I went through it and said I had won.
Wow.

A funny moment was in multiplayer in one of the systems that has a mine field in it. I think its one of the Omega systems where there are mines ringing a mining complex. The mission I had was to take out some Corsair fighters. I arrived at the destination and the little Mission Commision speech starts "We've marked all the targets you need", at that moment, EVERY fighter got blown up by mines. Then I was directed to a second waypoint with more fighters and the same happened.

I earned about 48000 credits and a lot of salvage without firing a shot.

On the last mission when I heard juni saying something about the last shield generator'd been destroyed and the movie started to play, I got only about 20 hitpoints !

Flying into and bouncing off the New York sun without using any nanobots unitl I started trying to fly away.

That and watching countless amounts of NPCs get blown up by minefields that they created.

Greatest Moment for me was in MP escorting 2 players in Humpbacks on a cargo run and having to attack anything that moved. Its just more nerve racking when the people your escorting are other players

I was also escorting two of my friends when this PKer tried to blow them up. He didn't see my Eagle on his six and got his shield taken off before he knew it, but he was a skilled pilot and knew how to dodge, though on the other hand he obviously didn't know about the advantage of the reverser and couldn't shake me off his back. He ended up running for the trade lane in a hail of nomad cannon and TDC shells, and I nailed him just as he started accelerating through the trade lane! :-)

The Dyson Sphere mission....reminded me very strongly of the last mission of X-Wing. Just like fighting near the Deathstar Trench.

Of course in this case the opposite tactic was the winner....for FL you had to get low and close to the deck.
