Getting a class 10 ship in 2 hours and 49 minutes

Dragging up an old thread, but some more hints:

I like to buy a Lavablade gun on Manhattan at the start, makes those depots go down much faster, can usually get 4-5 before the police come in.

The middle depot at Manhattan contains Polymers, which are worth $420 on Norfolk Shipyard only one tradelane away. The Starflier can pick up 20, total value $8400 if you run from the police (just hit cruise) and sell on Norfolk. That's more than enough to buy a Rhino right away, and you can afford 50-60 light arms for the first trip to Montezuma. One more round trip on Manhattan-Detroit-Montezuma and you can pop over to Mactan for the Dromedary and have enough for 100+ cardamine from there as well.

If you want BIG bucks (not just enough for a class-10 ship), then take Luxury Consumer Goods from Manhattan to New Tokyo and get on the famous diamond-niobium run.

I usually only take out 3 containers, one at a time. Each container is 15 units, I think.

Getting a VHF means nothing if you have no guns to do missions and no cash to do trade runs. A more realistic thing to look at is what's the shortest time you need to reach say, level 36, which is roughly the level where you have the net worth to have a fully fitted out VHF. I haven't actually made an attempt to do just that, but usually it takes me 4 hours or so to get there.

it can be also on a other way...

6 or 7 missions and get a lev 10 ship

- buy only 2 lev 2 weaps on manhattan and do the best missions (no kill all or station kill (take to long))
- buy as fast as possible the patriot and buy class 3 weaps for it (u may buy the class 2 shield, but also wait)
- go to kusari space and do the best missions (if u have still a class 1 shield, buy here a class 3 graviton).
- buy as soon as possible the drake (don't take the shield u get with it) and go with it to Nansai researche station in kyushu and buy there the class 6 graviton shield.
- if outcast r below -2 blocks from middle neutral go to freeport 10 and kill outside there only bounty hunters.
- if outcast r above -2 blocks from middle neutral go to planet malta (omicron alpha) and buy their the highest class weaps u can buy (class 4 till 6)
- do the most payment missions (i did div 43 with 4 class 5 pyros type 2, and landed also on malta, had only 3 nanobots left (i maked 3 pics of it ).

it looked a long story, but it can be 3 hours work... and u have also a good kill-ratio... so u can get a class 10 fighter with only lf and doing missions and no traderoutes in it... i had it in maybe 2.1/2 hours done... but i didn't buyed a class 10 fighter and stayed by the drake... i just worked it out for a little duel what never happend...

hey i did the whole of freelancer without outside help true i oly disovered lancers reactor in apriland even then i only disovered forums about two weeks ago on my first ever attempt i finished the story line whith just over 1,000,000 then went on to have been absolutley every where (nearly) and had 990,748,380 credits before i discovered modding then i discovered modding got the rebalence mod used it saved by mistake didnt like the mod got rid of it and had to delete my only save the last save was just after the end of the campaign f**k !
by the way i have discovered a usefull game glitch whith the wreck's yu shoot them you get the guns you cant get any more But now you can because if someone else soots at them they still drop the guns once per dock so get them your self then dock and lure some enemys to them use them as a sheild and they get hit and drop guns : ) (reapeat process)

Ycan do the dimond run in about the same time frame or u can do a run from denver 2 tokyo tradin engin componets & lux comsumer goods ( I think ) short run no drug dealin plus several encounters with pirates 2 add spice 2 the game

I did the above run with 3 other people on a random server and found out that if you follow it to the letter run from combats and have a decently armored/fast ship you'll make it no time flat. And for that somebody on the first page there is now a mod its called Victors Mp Enchament Mod that works on the IONCROSS server its does all of that plus
Trade based on fraction standing
New Ships (large transport anyone?)
and it ups the time to do this to about 5 hours
if you did it for around 50 congrats and enjoy your dreadnougt
