Getting a class 10 ship in 2 hours and 49 minutes

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Freelancer is as easy or as hard as you want to make it. Unfortunately, the easy route seems way too easy.

I'd love to see the following changes (for MP):

* Death penalty. Any kind of death penalty. Lose your cash and/or lose your ship. Something.
* Randomized commodities and commodity prices.
* Increased cost for equipment, ships, etc.
* Enemy ships are more potent (guns do more damage, shields last longer, etc).
* Tweak the factions. It should be much easier to piss people off, and a lot harder to get on their good side.

Still though, FL is a damn fun game. I'm taking it real slow though. Exploring, mining and missions. The occasional trade run.

i just tried this and i died missarbly as soon as i left montozuma with 19 cadium on the first cargo run.. now i have 200$ to my name and can't do squat. just wasted 1hr or so killing cargo ships to make ships neutral to me instead of hostal. any way to make them not want yoru cargo??? cuz thats waht killed me.

lol just spent another 1.5hrs improving relations with the pirates only to be slaughtered by hackers at the next jump. lol so i think u have to be really lucky to do steps 3+

Ok maybe not anyone...

You aren't completely neutral after their names go white, and you must remember that if you are carrying something that certain Pirate factions really want (They don't ask to scan your cargo like Cops, they just do it) they will demand it. Also, since you are carrying illegal stuff, you can still be caught by the Cops as well. This plan does have risk.

How do you kill those cargo depots? They are quite indestructible when I shoot at them.

This method works great and the only "problem" with it is very easy to avoid...just run from the cops...I got scanned and busted several times but every time I had enough time to dock with the planet or the next trade lane and escape...

I realize this question has been asked before, however- like puddle, I'm having difficulty identifying what is meant by Cargo Dumps, pulling up a list right after launch does not indicate any type of item in space named Cargo Dumps, are Cargo Dumps in another system or are they just something that have a different in game name? Someone please reply. Thanks!!

So, WTF are cargo dumps?

Post Fri Mar 14, 2003 4:32 am

how about the fact that nobody even plays the game for what its really worth i mean come on how many of you have honestly (please dont lie it make you very uncool) explored each and every system to its fullest or maybe tried being hostile with completely different groups? my point is that this game is not entirely based on increasing your worth and leveling so that you can buy a kick-ass ship and thats it. there is much more to this game then anybody really takes the time to play it for. in my opinion i would prefer that if there is a patch it enables people to lvl up to 99 but make it so that you worth must increase a very dramatic amount much like diablo just t gain the next level. i personally dont even refer to the same trade route, i explore so that i can find the best possible trade route and put it together which is another fun part of the game. but anyways as i said before people shouldn't even be focusing on leveling entirely and more on playing the entirety of the game, hell it even make it more worth your money to play to its extent

Cargo dump are the Supply depots ....you just shoot them and they blow up fast
Then your rating goes down with the Liberty forces and it gets "normal" with the lane hackers and the outcasts and maybe the xenos

if you blow them up in Rhinel;and you will get nuetral with the hessians etc and in Kurasi same

the only waty that i know of to get nuetral with the corsairs is to kill hessians though

Knowledge is power; Abuse it wisely[!

The problem is that it takes FOREVER to blow up the supply depots right when you start off, and the LSF creams me after I blow just ONE up.

And you lose all the crap when you die... or at least I did.

Post Fri Mar 14, 2003 7:40 pm

Could someone tell me exactly what these cargo dumps are???

Post Fri Mar 14, 2003 8:56 pm

I followed blitz example, and i do it now on every pvp server, within 3 hours i get a sabre or a titan to pvp with. have doen it on 2 servers, its a fast way to get the fast level 10 ship to pvp with.

Yeah, but where are the cargo depots he speaks of?

Edit: I've tried destroying the Supply Depots in Manhattan but the cops immediatly come and destroy me (using a new character) and my rogue faction is still awful. I wish the author of the thread would specify as to where these cargo depots are and how you're supposed to destroy them.

Nice strategy. I'll keep a lookout for people trying this run and hunt them down
