Getting a class 10 ship in 2 hours and 49 minutes

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Seems some people just can't manage to do this.

1) Get your starting ship.
2) Launch to space.
3) Fly up to a cargo depot (or whatever they are called)
4) Stop one inch in front
5) Aim at cargo depot.
6) Hold down right mouse button. Try to destroy one or more depots.
7) Get annihilated by the cops
8) Repeat process until you have killed 3-4 of them.

If you have skills you can do this without dying. If you don't just die, great. yer not doing this for the 20 water you dumbass. Yes even you can be level 38 with a titan. I did get a good chuckle out of the people that couldn't handle it though.

I managed to make the corsairs neutral with me after shooting up some cargo dumps in the new london system. problem was, i shot one too many and then bmm was hostile in that system with me.

Where's Montezuma? I know it's in the Cortez system, but I can't find it for the life of me.

It looks like many of you are overlooking several things (and I mean those claiming the game is unbalanced or easy) - you're all here reading spoilers and finding perfect traderoutes and how to get perfect alliances and where to get highest level weapons and ships and where to get commodities and all that.

If any one of you on here says to me you beat the game or attained a lvl 10 ship after getting and playing the game with no ouside help from anywhere (either readings online or otherwise) then I can easily say .. 'You're a Liar'. Either way, if you tell me you go into MP and breeeze through, likewise....in which case, sure you're not lying, but if you know everywhere to go and everything to do then I think any game would be a breeze.

The game becomes unbalanced and easy when 'spoiling' or outside help is involved and I realized that personally.

As someone else on here mentioned, Freelancer can be as difficult or easy as you make it. Sit down and play the game completely on your own, no matter how much something burns you, figure it out; figure out where the traderoutes are and where stuff is on your own and guaranteed it'll last you more than a few hours or days.

For example - I was stuck on not getting enough money (wanted my missions to move in SP) and I came here, I WAS level 8 or 13 I believe and within 2 hours of reading here I beat the game.

Before you make people who have never played the game disinterested, sit down and try to picture yourself playing without the help of ppl on lancers reactor and other fan sites who've played for weeks; and then comment.

If the game were any harder, it would be unbeatable without outside help.

P.S This is not meant to insult anyone, just meant to open some eyes, and maybe give some of those ppl who are looking to buy the game some insight - point being - if you want a game to be challenging and interesting, don't go reading spoilers, because in this case, it's one big walkthrough, which in any other terms, can be called a cheat.

well I realized what I was doing wrong. I was shooting at cargo dumps that people have already blow up, so I was just shooting at the indestructible rack mount that holds the canisters in place. After a server reset I noticed that the cargo racks actually had big canisters worth of crap I could blow up.

It's also a lot faster to blow up the canisters filled with polymers at manhattan and the one filled with some chemical (don't remember what) at fort bush and then escape to sell it instead of just dying.. I made about 60K in 20 minutes and was able to do the first run to montezuma in a rhino and saved myself an entire run.

It's also more profitable per minute to run luxury food from new london to planet denver once you have a dromedary.

NeoPrimal2K: "The game becomes unbalanced and easy when 'spoiling' or outside help is involved and I realized that personally."

This is very true...but when you are playing in game and you ask one of your group-mates or somebody who you just pass by for a good trade route and he/she tells you one, does this still count as a spoiler? I mean, kudos if you can make the run, but chances are that there are pker's standing by various gates waiting for ppl to make said run. This actually happened to me, I was flying in a clydesdale moving Luxury foods from New London to Manhatten when I was jumped by a player. Needless to say I died. I then learned not to do that run anymore, sold my freighter and bought a hawk. I then learned an easy way to make $200K or so in about an hour of play...do the random missions ! Particularly in the Rheinland sector. Just take the ones that offer 30000+ creds for an insta-kill mission. After figuring this out I learned that an outside factor (my getting consistently killed while in a freighter) led to this easy way to easy money. In about 3 hours time (granted I started out of my freighting business with 200K) I bought an Eagle. Honestly now folks, there is no perfect trading run. This is because if you know about it, chances are that many many other ppl now about it too and are just waiting for you to get near a base/planet/lane/whatever to pk you and take your cargo. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Cheers.

Good point.

Well however, I tried this and it didn't work for me:

I blew up depot, got killed, respawned and blew up another one. I did this 4-5 times. I became slightly neutral with Liberty Cops, but not that much. I thought its all green, went to Manhattan, bought luxury stuff for Cambridge, started travelling, and got jumped by 6-8 ships in Cortez. They had cruise disruptors and what not. I was running like mad (even sold my guns to buy goods) but got blown up eventually. I tried it like 3-4 times and never made it.

My big problem is starting the game, those first 50-60K

I got Sabre in about 90minutes.

- Destroyed police storage depots
- sold weapons, bought luxury consumer goods for $180
- flew to Planet Cambridge, sold luxury consumer goods for $810
- Bought Luxury Food for $160
- flew to Planet Manhattan sold food for $1200
- Bought Rhino, bought luxury consumer goods for $180
- flew to Planet Cambridge, sold luxury consumer goods for $810
- Bought Clydesdale, bought luxury food for $160
- flew to Manhattan, sold luxury food for $1200
- bought luxury consumer goods for $180
- flew to Planet Cambridge, sold goods for $810
- Bought Gold for $543
- Flew to New Berlin (via omega), sold gold for $1189
- Bought Humpback, bought Diamonds for $396
- Flew to Planet New Tokyo (via sigma13), sold diamonds for $1650
- Bought Engine Components for $225
- Flew to Planet Malta, sold Components for $1350
- Bribed outcasts, bought Sabre.

And this could get tweaked even further.. i think it's possible to get sabre in under 60minutes

I beat the game and attained a lvl 10 ship with no outside help from anywhere.

However I can't go into MP and breeze through, because my MP doesnt work. I have tried everything, reinstalling directx etc, reinstalling WINDOWS, uninstalling directx with a special app.. I was able to connect to global server ONCE after I did the following: Install directx 9. Reinstall Windows. Use DirectX 9 Uninstaller.
But I couldn't join any games because I got an error saying my account or password was wrong. I uninstalled freelancer, Installed freelancer from scratch, and installed directx 9 from CD. Now I can no longer connect to Global Server.

I am going to try another variation on this now.

Oh and btw I dont have any router or any **** like that, nothing nub I know what I'm doing. And it still wont work. Unfortunately for the time being formatting is not an option and its the only thing that I can think of if this next thing I try doesnt work.
GL to me.

Oh and just because some people can pass the game and get titans and **** without help doesnt mean they're lying, it just means they're better than you. Do you think the people posting these multiplayer tips read them off of some other obscure forum?

Post Mon Mar 17, 2003 2:05 pm

Oh and btw what I do for money (quite succesfully) is fly down to dresden, take the jumphole to omega 41, and shoot down a few hessians. Usually wind up with a cargo hold full of Niobium. Head back to dresden, sell at leipzig station for 1,600 a piece. 1 jump and usually only a couple minutes to load up.

Post Mon Mar 17, 2003 5:28 pm

if you can kill hessians.. (assuming you have at least hammerhead) you can just do 200k missions.. and get 1+million in 30mins.

Heh, I got jumped by Corsairs, they smoked me too =)

Oh, well I guess I suck

I have problems with both the one Blitz posted and the one hatch posted.

My problem with Blitz' is when I try to get to Malta. I go there passing through the Rheinland System. As soon as I get into Frankfurt I get molested by Unioners. Does anybody have any other ways to get there? These Unioner terrorists seem to be the only guys I'm hostile with.

Now, I have very similar problems with hatch's method. Whenever I go to Cambridge to sell my Luxury Consumer Goods the Corsairs rape me as soon as I get through the jump hole. This is going from Manchester > New London > Cambridge.

I tried again today when I woke up and I mapped out another course. Instead of going through New London to get to Cambridge, I tried to find the Magellan > Leeds jumphole (which I couldn't find for the life of me). So I went Magellan > Manchester > Leeds > Cambridge. The same thing happened...as soon as I came through the jump hole I got owned by the Mollys.

Anybody have any ideas?
