I realise that this does come down to one's own opinion; so in MY opinion, I prefer the Eagle. I was using the sabre for a while. But I got tired of it and for a while was tempted to try the titan..so i did, and found it waaay too sluggish for my needs. So I tried the eagle, and I had found my one true love (as far as freelancer goes, that is..) I love being able to fly circles around my hapless enemies. The one little turret was not much of a loss for me, and I could not imagine going back to the sabre. Sure, It looks sexy, but all that does is attract more trigger happy eagle pilots

Titans are like freighters. Lots of guns, but pointing at the wrong directions. Slow enough to hit with those level 10 weapons.

Then again, going head to head with a Titan with your Eagle is a really bad idea..

/shrug you only need to get behind the eagle 1 time to blow it up with a sabre and that is trival to do. Some pilots just suck. I personally feel that the Sabre and the Eagle are very well matched with the sabre having a slight edge due to firepower. The maneuverability difference between the Eagle and Sabre is quite insignificant.

It really all comes down to pilot skills with these 2 ships (titan just plain sucks) If your behind me I will use my mines to remove you from that location and while the Sabre cant outmaneuver the Eagle, it just doesnt need to.

..and yes, being able to hit other players with an extra gun in a dogfight DOES make a difference

my point is u cant! u cannot outfly the eagle to get behind it if u are in a sabre!

being able to hit someone with another gun is an advantage, but that is my whole point. u wouldnt be able to. the manuerving difference between sabre and eagle is not insignificant, its kept me alive!! its such a big margin that i can stay behind a sabre no matter how much manuevering they do. and ive found that mines arent as effective as people would like to think. i cant take mine after mine and not see the shield move at all. or i can just shoot the mines as they come out of the back of ur ship. im tellin u i can give u a good demonstration of eagle v sabre manueverin if u ever find me. i can see u when we fly but u cant see me! its that simple, try it! u may just like it! get an eagle then find a sabre and ask for a friendly duel. ull see that he cant hit u!

bullocks to everyone's opinion! the VHFs just arent balanced properly! Anyone who has been in a dogfight against the eagle will know what im talking about!

You wanna talk opinion? i love the sabre! i think its a cool ship! But what is that worth in a dogfight? it aint worth ****! Opinions dont matter when the facts are so clear.

FACT 1: Faster turn rate means you get to turn on your enemy faster.

FACT 2: If you get to turn on your enemy faster, you are firing your guns earlier.

FACT 3: If you are firing your guns earlier, your enemy is taking more damage.

FACT 4: If your enemy is taking more damage, he will be long dead before you.

FACT 5: NO VHF turns faster than the Eagle.

Now please get this through your heads, FACT! BEST SHIP = Eagle! Its just the way the game is! Until they release a patch to fix the unbalanced VHFs, this fact will not change!

Oh! whats that you are saying? The sabre has that forward turret? The titan has more armor? I believe all this has already been addressed by other people. Extra turret aint worth **** if u cant turn fast enough to shoot me! Extra armor aint worth **** if all its gonna do is buy you 2 extra shots from the enemy and you still cant see where the enemy is when you die!

SO ... best looking ship? THATS opinion! and you are entitled to your OPINION of which ship looks best! BUT BEST SHIP?

heh , WHY do you consider the forawrd pointing turret to be an advantage at all? sure it adds a bit more dmg , but it also messes up your aiming so its more of a liability than anything , I used to have a sabre , and a titan before that , and Eagle is MUCH funner , and maneuvers ALOT better than both of them , not insignifigantly better .

Big deal about the turret. 4 guns doing 5000 hit points is better than 6 + 1 turret doing 3000 hit points. Besides, with less guns, you sustain your shots longer. And guns that shots at a higher velocity is easier to aim than the slower ones.

Currently flying a sabre, and one jump away from the place I bought it I found the eagle. A bit reluctant to let go of this 1/2 million machine yet. And I kept being beaten up by nomads.
Maybe a few more mission runs and it's back to eagle.

i got my eagle and decked it out. i finished 6 sabres and got my 120k from a mission faster than my sister came up the stairs to call me for dinner. in other words, it really depends on who ur up against. i chewed up titans real fast as well. daggers went in two shots.

presently, my world is upside down, so if u do not mind, u'll have to tok to my a$$

oh and if you get that rear lvl9 turret the gas miners guild use - then while your aiming towards the edge of your screen you'll notice that at certain points - it does in fact fire forwards!

Oh forgot to mention, anytime I've done a pvp in a titan vs an eagle (who is a good pilot) I've barely had a chance to shoot at him...
To a lesser extent with the sabre but still not enough to really do damage unless I meet him head on, which doesn't happen against a good pilot..

Kergen, I guarantee my Sabre would smoke your Eagle any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

It's all in the pilot. Sabre turns fast enough, one engine cut after a quick burn and I'd be on you in a second. Your hull would crumple soooo fast.

keep in mind that that is where the sabre and ttian were made for, to handle the extreme conditions in the border worlds.

firepower aint worth much if tour ship is bitten in half by acid :p

i had the asbre, i now have an eagle.

i like it more, and it's also more challenging to paly with

sabre goes like:
"hey, enemies"
*opens fire, head on*
-"enemies are DEAD"

eagle is really "zippie", so you can actually make a sport out of it not to get hit while fighting :p

best pvp. fighter = eagle.
best dogfighter = eagle.
best allround ship = sabre.
best target = titan.
best "explorer" = sabre.
best looking, wel, i personally think the sabre looks coolest, although the valkyrie has something too :p

Eagle may be zippy, but a good sabre pilot will beat them any day. Especially in an asteroid field.
