Hey Eskie, I''m huntin'' Wabbitsees!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

how about...

"Buck Dodgers in the 5th Century (BC)"

"386SX-20" - after the processor type and speed you're upgrading too.

"Not as good as Taw's" - a very appropriate one!

"I have to use one of FD's rubbish names 'cos I can't think of one for myself" - might be a bit long for DNS....

"Property of Ebay"

"Woundwort" - a lterary reference that wabbits should understand.

"Supplied by Swiss Drui 2nd Hand Computer Emporium" - so we won't be seeing you for a while then, Eskwie!

course, we might have a wee bit more respect for your <ahem> "equipment" if you told us how much you were planning to spend, and what you were planning to spend it on. I upgraded Borromir - that fine example of a contemporary computer - with quality parts but didn't actually spend a huge amount of money, the true cost got erm "merged" shall we say? with some erm "ongoing maintenance" at work.

anyway, keep it up Hoppity, if it doesn't work out you can have the Boy's V-tech that's going spare, that'll be an improvement on Typhon's "performance" at least!

oh yes, one other thing..

"The only problem is that it gives the evil Mullah far too much credit"

but not as much as I get off Swiss and Indy!

It was approrpiate, Mr. Flopsey, because of the fact as noted by others, your talk of upgrading at this point is worse than the Burma Shave ads of yore. And if you're going to wait for DDr3 to settle down before you take the plunge (as was the case with DDR2 before it, too much latency for not enough cpu ooomph or FSB , you may as well add additional time to wait for Intel's next generation cpu on the 45nm die set to roll out as well ... and then also wait to see whether OLED monitors will be available in workabe sizes for the desktop, etc.

At the rate that you are waiting, my old WinME system with the 423 socket P4 is still eons of technology ahead of your thingy.

Bah! Typhon isn't THAT bad, evil Mullah! Anyway, you would like to know what I plan to purchase would ye? I'll think about providing that information, assuming that there is a sufficient level of interest. Anyone else wanna know what da Rabbit-King is considerin'? Eh? Do ye?

Indy - Bah! Ye're behind the times (again)! I didn't mention OLED, but I *did* mention that I wanted to wait for "Penryn" (i.e. the new 45nm Intel CPU). Get wif da programme, moit. Anyway, what's the point of buying now? UT3 and Crysis are the "next-gen" games that will, allegedly, set the metaphorical bar for gaming PCs for the 18 months or so after their release, so why pick up an 8800GTX, etc when the 8900-series may be just around corner? Some have said that they will arrive in around 2 weeks, but these sources are not terribly reliable. In any case, I can wait, and withstand your (pl.) slings ard arrows. Besides, if I were to pick up a new PC, you and Taw'ho would lose 40% of your material!

Esky: I have the best name for your new machine. "Septic Tank."

Post Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:15 am

It has a rather negative connotation don't you think? Besides, we don't even have septic tanks 'ere in Esquilaxitavia!

No, that's true, you just crap in your holes

In left-handed recognition of his newly ensconced maniacal monarchy as well as the relatively low probability that he ever will upgrade:

Royal Flush

You noticed we are reduced to coming up with a name for Esq computer, yet we have never come up with a suitable one for the rabbit hole?

Post Mon Jul 09, 2007 9:43 am

dunghole
dank pit
damp subterranean hovel

these are just some of the terms I've used in the past to describe Rabbit Central, none of which do it's cramped, fetid misery true justice.

Post Mon Jul 09, 2007 10:18 am

Dank House. Currently, in proper nomenklatura it is, Dank House.

Upon completion of the current massive drainage project and hosing down with more disinfectants, the term "Palace" will replace "House."

Official announcement of same, of course, awaits roll out of Typhon's replacement to take better advantage of the 56k external modem also due for delivery at the *ahem* palace at some point in future.

but it's not really a house as such, is it? can a wet hole in the ground truly be considered to be a house, furnished as it is with rotting vegetation and piles of domestic refuse (which would be Typhon)

Post Mon Jul 09, 2007 1:17 pm

Nah, it's just a big hole in the ground. Best thing to do? Flood it with water.
