Anyway, the reason I asked you was/is because my vocabulary(sp) isn't that great and I have to do with sudden surges of inspiration, which don't come that often.
I got the help of www.dictionary.com for meanings, synonyms and translations etc, but I thought this was a nicer idea

as for your ship names, Russian sounds good, most Russian capships are named after cities in the Soviet union, For instance, The Kiev and her sister ship, the Minsk, for older ships, The StalinGrad, the LeninGrad, or if you wish to be original, try Red October

N.B: Kiev and Minsk are Both modern day carriers still in use with the Russian Navy, If I read correctly, The StalinGrad and the LeninGrad are '50s era Battleships

As for fighter planes names, most names are just Nicknames, but if you wish to name the Class you can't go wrong with Norse mythology, like the Aesir, that was rumored to be the original of the World of Asgard, Asgard and Valhalla are good capship names btw, so are Ragnarøkr, Jormungand, Loki and Odinn, but anyway, on to the Fighter names, Sleipnir, is a very good one ('tis an eightfooted Horse that was conceived through intercourse between the Trickster Loki and svadilfari, a stallion) also if you want to find out more names, it couldn't hurt to check >Here< tis a wonderfull place with loads of info

i won't pretend to be very good iwth names.. but space fighter? imho thats pushing it.

and as for names,

you can rip off from sl, some that i liked are.. reliant, and endeavor, suggesting they live through hard times, which reliant did indeed do.

other names are like er.. i'm gonna rip off from homeworld.
