Need help with a project of some sort *Updated*

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@Kimk: Assuming you're referring to Star Fighters as a name for a squadron, the idea behind it is that it's teh first fighter squad in space. It'd be the 1st Star Fighters. Yeah I know it's a bit silly, but I thought it would go nice along all the other things people come up with and actually give stupid names.
But I'm filtering things out and you're happy to know that the Star Fighters are off the list now

I like the HellJumpers btw

I already got Orion as a possible Cap Sip name, but a base might do nicely.

I've worked out a very basic plot. It involves Russia and USA and maybe some allies.
Space colonisation has just begun and is sped up by a new Cold War between the two military forces. (Similar to the space race in the 50's and 60's)

Russia occupies the moon and Titan (Saturn moon)
USA occupies Mars.

Vast amounts of recourses are found on Europe (Jupiter's moon) by the USA and the Russians also want a piece of it, if not all.
I still need to determine what the recourses are, but it's most likely as valuable as oil is today, so it'll be a builing recourse or a fuel recourse.

Forces are about equally strong. Russians have numbers and strength, but lack dicipline and are technically behind. (less funds, less research).
USA have technically advanced material, but lack some skill and size (of ships and numbers) compared to the Russians.

3rd party

Alien of course, but with a surprise. I'm still working this out.

Also, I'm working on a timeline from present to the start of the story which I'll post later for your comments and enjoyment

Edit: Just to annoy you

Isn't that a song by Nat King Cole?

You got the "g" and the "t" in reversed positions.

<Edit>

Nick: I know Saturn has a moon named Titan (note Huygens landing objective).
Does Neptune also have a Titan moon?

Lol, I found this great site for Russian Shipnames.

Russian military shipnames

They got some great material there. A small example:

Name: Korolev
Description: Unknown "large landing ship" (probably a Ropucha or an Alligator) in the Baltic Fleet named for its "sponsor," Korolev, a Moscow suburb. This vessel was to be equipped with a foreign satellite navigation system, a "gift" from its sponsors

Isn't that the greatest thing ever?

I'm trying to find a decent English/Dutch to Russian translator, but all the ones I find give me standard Russian charatcers, the ones I can't read...

Anyway, I seem to remember some one here speaks/writes/understands Russian. I'm looking for the translation of Fort. All I got was ФОРТ, which as you might guess is nothing but spaghetti to me
