Knights of the Old Republic

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Yes, still have IE. But, I went to the site again with spysweeper running in the back ground and lesser problem.

I have tried opera and firebird, but keep coming back to IE. I have used MyIE as well.

"MyIE" didn't really work for me. Well, I still say that you should use Mozilla or Firefox, but that's a discussion for another topic .

SS, you were right, it does have a final Fantasy flare to it. Not bad so far, made it to the sand peole.

Edit - update - This game has turned into a Hoot. I wish I had got it sooner, if not for the cost.

Second edit, Juni is turning up in a lot of places. Here and in Jedi Acdamy Jennifer Hale. Strange to here "Juni" in other games.

"Turned into a hoot"? That's a good thing, right?

Post Mon May 31, 2004 3:10 pm

Esq, I'll get you southernized yet. Yes a hoot is a good thing.

Post Mon May 31, 2004 3:12 pm

I wasn't aware that that particular expresssion was from South America. Interesting.

Post Mon May 31, 2004 3:17 pm

South America ? Southernized as in southern US, as in Ga.

Post Mon May 31, 2004 3:22 pm

Damn! Sorry about that. I keep being interrupted at work when I try to *shouts at students at window "I'm typing clear off!"* type up a opst. This means that "Final is from America" is in my head, as is the word "Southernised", so I get a wee bit confused. Damn students *mumble*.

Anyway, we should be back on topic. Where are you up to in KOTOR now? Have you tried any mods? What's your favourite aspect of the game so far?

Post Mon May 31, 2004 3:29 pm

No mods yet, that was one of the things that I was looking for when the "problem" started. I like the romace aspect as a subplot. The double blade saber is good too, particularly that you can throw it, whereas Jedi Knight, you can not. The interaction is good too. And it is a bit closer to a rollplaing game that The Jedi's are.

Indeed, it does well as an RPG. The only thing is that there is no dismemberment. I'm not usually a fan, but we *are* using lightsabers here, and I imagine that the "realism" was toned down significantly, in order that the young XBOX crowd could play it .

There wouldn't be any blood so why bother? The laser immediately would cauterize every wound it created.

True, but it's always fun beheading dark force users in the JK games, so it would probably be even more fun in KOTOR .

I think I boo booed. Havn't finished all the planets and found out about reven and got stuck in a loop. Shot the fighters and nothing happens. Now have to go back a save and fix.

KOTOR is fun as hell, but yep, you're going to run into more than your share of bugs because it's buggy as hell.
