Not that I am installing it any time soon but is it possible that KoToR patch was not the spyware source? I'm pretty sure that it could not have been the disk and your latest posts seem to bear this out.

I had the problems before trying to get the patch. When I reinstalled it this time, I did not include the website info to be installed. Still not sure about it. The only things I had downloaded was a couple of mods for freelancer, nothing else.

Wolfy? don't know weather to think "Now thats low" or to give a good laugh Esq, when I installed it theis time around, I did not install the bioware/lucas Arts web links, keeping it to a min install. It's running ok so far. I still want to know where the spyware came from, game or not. I screen my mail well, and if I don't know it, it gets deleted unopened, Downloads have been very limited, mostly Mods for freelancer, I did get windowblinds, but that was 3 weeks ago, and I already deleted that a week later. This one has got me baffeled.

Just having some fun with you . Well, send me your PC, $500, and several litres of ginger beer, and I'll fix your PC for you . I'd just keep a close eye on everything you download, and only install files from trusted sources. I'd also consider uninstalling and re-installing your firewall, as some viruses, etc can compromise them, and this could have occurred (theoretically).

Still running great, no spyware to be seen, and I finally got off the planet, Yessss! I may not even get the patch. A side not, when I got the other patch and had used it, it said my system no longer passed requirements. But without the patch, it passes min proscessor a 1.58 and video 64mb, but i do have 768 mb Ram.

Meh. You know what patches are like Final; most of the time they make games and apps run more efficiently and fix bugs, but sometimes they make things worse. Trust me .

Esq, the spyware came from a KOTOR web site. I was hunting for more info on it, mods, ect. I got hit again with the same ones. There wern't on there this morning when I ran spysweep. I did have this site up the other day looking for info. I am presuming this is where the problems came from. I have already gotten rid of them. It even tried to change my startpage to on on Kotor with a pop-up with porn.

Which website? Did you try the one I suggested? Also, are you using IE?

Notify the website. They might not know . Also, in that notification offer to notify MS as well .... that probably will sort that out. Otherwise, notify MS.... it is not as if they like to be part of a means to give access to porn to most likely underaged visitors.

I ran Norton overnight and got some, and this morning (sat) reran spysweeper and got all the rest. Their gone now which is why I am hesitant to go back. I found it using IE address bar for the search. Thety were on the first page. I wish I had wrote it down, but as soon as I opened it, thens began to hapen, pop-ups, startpage change, ect..

Edit-update its http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.p ... did=122049 site that has the spyware. As soon as I went there it tried to chandge my startpage again. Fortuantly, spysweeper is running now in the background and caught it. I have reported it to http://www.lfnetwork.com/contact.php in hopes they can stop it as it does represent Lucas.
