This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@SnS

Kind of putting you on the spot maybe but....for a klutz like me (meaning fingers are kind of slow and unresponsive) is this a hard game to play? Are you using a joystick or a console handset?

You can do it either of two ways, or a combo of them. Keyboard or mouse. If you can play Freelancer you can play this game. In fact unlike FL, you can be entirely dependant on the mouse and not at all use the keyboard. Since there are too many keys to remember, I'm liking the mouse better at this point. Once I start remembering better what everything does, I may think differently.

One main tip for ya SS; DO NOT level up after level 2. It's makes the game more difficult (at the start), but as soon as you leave Taris, you are allowed to choose a Jedi class. That way, you can be a 2nd-level Scoundrel and a 6th-level Jedi, instead of a 7th-level Scoundrel and 1st-level Jedi. Persist with it; it really is a great game despite the generic plot elements.

Ah. Thanks SnS.

Now to find a nice cheap new copy of the game to add to my collection of shrink wrapped and yet to be played games.

@Esq, yeah, I was thinking there might be something like that. I said I was having a Final Fantasy 7 flashbacks. Well when I first played my friend's FF7 I never new about the level system and won the whole thing having never leveled up on anything. It took me 15 minutes to beat Sephiroth (not to turn this into a FF7 thread ), whereas my friend who had leveled up it took an hour or more to beat him.

@Indy, Best Buy has it on sale for $19.99, which is $10 off what it normally is priced. Free shipping for online purchase and this price will surely go back up. I've seen enough Best Buy deals come and go to know it won't last long. They even have Star Wars Galaxies for $19.99. But I didn't want that.

Does anyone know of any spy ware involved with KOTOR? I just got rid of 8 programs and I have not downloaded anything lately, have a fire wall, and Norton antivirus, and open no unknown mail.

Post Sat May 22, 2004 9:05 pm

No; there would have been such outrage if LA were involved in anything like that, and I would have heard about it . Still, I guess that it is possible. Hmm, maybe your anti-spyware programs are picking up "doubleclick" cookies or something.

Esq, just downloaded the patch to KOTOR and got the popups for the same spyware again. It is KOTOR that has it. A downloader and a couple of other spywares.

edit - After deleting and removing all teh spyware, KOTOR began droping to desktop. it was still running, but I would have to click on it to bring it back up, and it would do it every 3 minutes. I tried to get the patch, when the popups to ok the spyware began. I hat to think I wasted money on a game, but i will gladly trash it if it is infested with spyware.

2nd edit - Virtual Bouncer and Ad Destroyer are installed with KOTOR. Just got rid of them.

Post Sun May 23, 2004 6:21 am

ff, did you install the update patch for it?

Post Sun May 23, 2004 7:40 am

i didn't get any spy ware
but then again mY 28.8k modem is so slow that it takes the pop ups 6 hours to load and by then I've given up trying to do what ever I was doing.

When I was In grade school I refered to me and my friends as the stoners who didn't use drugs to get stoned, we were either naturaly that weird and srewed up or we had been awake for 3 days. Beening Awake for 3 days has all the halucinations of drugs.
But its free, well not really, you have to pay for $100 worth of jolt, and red bull.
And the best part is just as Much Brain Damage!!!!
