I'm going to try Seattle Based 24/7 right now - as of Alpha 24/7 - i can't connect to it for some unknown reason - the admin of this server hasn't been seen for days i hear - which is not good...... This server hunting is taking a bit too long - i'm close to just giving up Freelancer.

Yah I know what you mean about server hunting, I will be trying Seattle myself tonight.

Forget Alpha 24/7 guys. We cant find the admin, and Heretic's sheating clan has moved into the server. SD will not be playing as a clan on this server AT ALL.

i was there too that really sucked. you know i had never seen a mod crash a game before, only rumors...but then heretic flew right in front of me at 7000k and less than 10 secs later it crashed that sucked. seatle is password protected, hot do you get the password? must you already know the host?

OMG don't say this, I finally got a total nutreul freighter guy that can go anywhere...now i hear this =(

I would hope you guys know changing servers cause someone comes in moding is stupid IMHO, you get the same thing on all servers.

Just because you change serves does not mean that the moder will not follow you, remember, this is a public forum that any one can read these threads, sometimes the wrong person will read it.

as for the admin not being round, i think if we are looking for one that will be playing all the time and be like Brow was, then Weskel is the server of choice, trouble here is no one plays there and some don't like his rules.

There will not be another admin like Brow and that sucks, but in the real world, people will mod and screw with your gamming fun crashing servers, hacking files and such, the admins are never anywhere to be found.

This is just the way it is, a few of us have decided to play on that alpha 24/7 server and have fun, myself I am done running around looking for the perfect server like Browclops, there just will not be another one like it.

i agree with SDfalcon -forget alpha 27/7. what happened to Weskel? i was playing on flying temple with 6 ppl on it and had good steady connection. last time i played on seattle, it was too laggy, ill check it again.

Face it Brow you are the God of admins....

We need a server where the admin is reachable, if we had that with Alpha we could have given Heretic and his ilk the boot.
Foogoo makes a valid point we need to move these discussions off of this forum, we need to set up a forum somewhere else, possibly password protected.
Our interest here in Alpha Server has only served to draw the attention of the parasites...

I was always surprised by how fast cheaters would be kicked on Brow's server. You'd say to someone else:
"Did you see that guy?"
"Yeah whoa, he was cheating for sure"
"No kiddin...Wtf? I just got killed again!"
"Dude that guy is so cheating"
"Someone want to report this?"

And you'd be cut off midstream by a console message:
"System Console: The cheating issue with X_player has been dealt with"

Brow didn't show as online, and yet he'd be watching from console. You could count on it, like a good watch. I don't think we're going to get that kind of commitment anywhere else, but we'll find somewhere to settle. I'm thinking of appending a [USB honorific to my names as well as a tribute to a great server, as Justinian had previously mentioned.

Admiral_Tolwyn the PW is Seattlebased its listed in the info box. I've played there for a little while and didn't encounter any lag.

seattle is ok but laggy and you got to becarful on the rules Genedefect will ban you for little things cussing,volgur screennames, things could of changed now. luckly OWL moved on from there the pked ,dockraped,tolled like crazy !
but i think finding another server is better option.

Well I think in toatal my decision is btw 24/7 Seattle & Alpha Server 24/7.

Amaar cant connect to Alpha and we cant find the admin.

Seattle was very good last night, and everyone could connect, admn seems engaged. (I hope he/she is not too too pickey about the small stuff)

Ok, I think I've found where I'll be, its the rpg mod listed on the front page of lancersreactor, checkout www.khaosprime.com, the people on it seem awesome, and it is a changing universe (according to the mod developers/server), such as new/changing systems, commodity price changes, ship re-balancing (proper rebalancing).
And you can still buy battleships (3 different levels per main faction), new commodities, and much more realistic ship prices (10mil for a battleship!, 300k for a rhino - with 400 cargo mind you).
Also, don't hit an asteroid or other ship, it's a lot closer to a real universe ship collisions can be fatal!
Check it out, the advances are awesome, and everything was extremely stable last night, when I play Freelancer, I'll be on there. The server is passworded, download the mod for more information, and check the forums on the site, its a pretty lively place to be.
