Xocyll, great job on your tutorial on adding the turrets. It sure dose look nice o the tie. Some Guns are too big for the small tie fighter. However i am relactant to increase tie fighter's size since otherwise i will have to equally increase the size of the SW capital ships into ridiculous size to properly scale the ships.

Both Tie Interceptor and Tie Defender are in the shipyard getting fitted right now. I'll keep you all updated once its ready.

With the current scale of the game, the capital ships will need to be about half the size of a planet (an ISD is 1.6kM long, and an SSD is 17.0).

Tie Interceptor is coming along quite nicely, and so far so good forthe defender.
Defender still need a lot of work, but overall, the Interceptor is close to been complete.

Here is a screenshot of it landing on Planet Huston.


It current Features:
4 gun/missle or turret hp
1 Mine launcher hp
1 Torpedo/CM Hp
1 Shield Hp
1 Thruster Hp

4 Jet Trails in SP and 2 Jet Trails in MP (i think number of jet trails is limited to 2 per ship for MP)


I will release both the Interceptor and defender when they are both ready.
I also have done some more additional mesh smoothing on the Tie Fighter,
new version will also be avaliable with the interceptor/defender pack.

Hey rapid you have msn please say you do I'm a lil skilled in 3d moddeling but tutorials for any new version of 3d programs wait a minute there arent any lol I wanna learn from you those ships look so perfectly modeled.

first off,great ship,i just added it to my game and im very impressed.
2nd,the other stuff you got planned sounds great and i can hardly wait,
now the asking part.lol.when u get the next ship ready for download could you do the same as you did with this one and put all the files there for me to just copy in to my existing ini files like you did with this one.thanks a lot.

forgot to add this,i like the way i was able to do this one because i didnt have to lose any of the ships that are allready in the game.

well thanks for a great model first but i have 1 little problem following Xocyll's example.....no one else can see my ship (they have all the files installed that i do), they see the guns but nothing else :/ the same happened when i tried to create an encounter of ties....any ideas? i've played round with the LoD's but had no luck.

players on my server can see the tie they are flying perfectly well, the problem is just seeing ones that other people or ai ships are flying


hope some1 has an idea

FSDK Site is down. Could be technical problem. I will wait for one day, and if its still not up, i will find a new home for the ties.

For all the upcoming ship packs, i will include the tutorial posted here on how to make a new ship in FL in the readme files along with all the necessary texture/model files.

I am looking into the ship disapperance problem in Multiplayer right, however i need some more info:

1. How many player were using Tie in your field of view? (AI Included)
2. When the ship disappear, is that ONLY the ship hull that's gone missing and you can still see the guns/equipments floating in space?

One possible fix is that you might need to change the AI's ships in shiparch.ini to have the correct LODrange as well. Sometimes they have special ship entry in the shiparch.ini file, make sure you change all of them.

However, I definately looking into that. Meanwhle if anyone else come up with something pleae post here. No ideas are dumb ideas.
