SW Ships Coming Up! (TIE and Xwing FLMM Version Released )
The general place to discuss MOD''ing Freelancer!
yeah i assume it will slow things down a bit if a pilot mesh were to be added. and plus the firespray is a two seater, u can't just put one guy smack in the middle of the cockpit, does the driver sit on the left side or right side?

TIE Fighter Advance has finally been completed!! Can't help but humming the imperial tune repeatedly while i was flying this ship :Þ
ALso, we have worked out some infocards for all the ships we have so far and I am working on putting together a small test system to experiment with custom ship formations and other SW customized aspect of game.
Star Destroyer are still been tested, Sal and I are still trying to find a way so a .sur file will work correctly with the ISD to give it a collision surface and prevent it from disappearing at close range.
And the infamous YT 1300, brought to you by SW TC's very own GAG, was also tested last night. I must say it was sweet ship and a well done on the engine configuration. What a treat for you all pirates out there
Here are some screenshots, take a look for your own enjoyment. Things are coming along steady but nicely.

Interesting suggestion.. a dirty up ISD... could be fun
may be i'll make a new set of skins that apply to a certain set of ISDs that is older, so not every ISD in the universe looks dirty the same way that it becomes redundent.
i'll give it a shot later on..might be tricky though with the size of ISD..
a good concept for all the ships too, good to have varities in a game.

well unlike the yt1300 the ISD only travels in space so it seldom gets dirty, except for the occassional bumps and bruises from hitting space debris. and plus the empire always keeps an razor sharp image(when was the last time anyone even saw an old an dirty TIE?) , kind of a trademark of their effectiveness if you ask me. So looking clean and well kept doesn't seem like a big issue to me. But i aggree those textures do look great on the falcon. good job GAG!

Nice work on the models. Once I get them I think I'll replace the Rheinland battleship with the ISD so I can go around and beat the living daylights outta them. Firespray and the YT-1300 also look nice.
Oh, and the only reason the Falcon looks so dirty is because its armor plating came from an Imperial Bulk Cruiser that was severely crippled during the Battle of Nar Shaddaa. Simple dirt can be washed off, but laser burns are a bit tougher to get out

The system is very rough right now, but i can give you a run down if you want.
1 emperial controlled system (the test system)
5 Bases: 2 of them sell 6 pilotable ships right now, 1 of the dockable base is the ISD.(mainly use the bases to test out infocards and ship icons, also use as a site to test the ISD and new ship models and weapons)
2 new factions: (names undetermined yet, there are just there so i have something to run formations with and test out different zone properties.)
One uses all emperial ships and the other one use transports, YT1300 and firespray.
like i said, i haven't got much big planned yet for this one system, i just felt that we have enough custom ships now to do a little more testing and perhaps discover some potential issues or good ideas for the mod.
rather empty right now actually, very experimental i must say but good to have it nonetheless, i got of testing done by fooling around in it and not messing up rest of FL.
whats the name of the system? look at one of the TIE Fighter Advanced Screen shot at the previous page and you'll konw

Heh, it'd be nice if you could release all of the ships seperately from a TC.

I am awesomer than you.

Wow! I have to say I'm really impressed, especially after trying my hand at this a bit. Keep right on doing what you're doing (whatever it is ) cause it's working great!
BTW - what resolution texture should I use on the Gunboat? I've been told the standard ships use nothing above 512x512 but that seems awfully small... I've got a gargantuan 2500x2500 texture i'm working with right now but I need to know what to shrink it to... Any suggestions would be appreciated
