heeehee that was HILARIOUS! every bit capturing the character that makes up the modern newscaster

And yes, proud Rhineland is on its knees, begging for allies. Fortunately, we do now have a non-agression pact in place with Liberty, so we are confident that a lasting relationship can grow between our two factions. Perhaps not an alliance, but a friendship of sorts. We can only hope that Bretonia reconsiders and lets us put in place a peace treaty.

As for the withdrawal of Samura from our alliance, we are saddened but we shall continue on. If they choose to reconsider, wonderful. If not, then we will take it as it comes. They can remember that Rhineland will always be a sanctuary for them against the Kusari barbarians.

Update!

The Colony News has a recent update regarding the Liberty/Rheinland agreement!
Sisko replies! : President Sisko of Liberty has given an official reply to Chancellor Wilde of Rheinland. He has agreed to the terms, and has given intrest into a further alliance. Our question now is, what will Bretonia say about this? The King, if he does intend to attack Rheinland, which is still up in the air, will not be happy at all with this development.

House Hispania Formed : The Corsairs have decided to form a "House". They are going to step up military buildup, and they have stated that they are no longer allowing house incursions into their space. What they plan to do now is still up in the air, but our anylists are guessing that they will attempt to join with the Outcasts or other pirates, in addition to their new ally Samura, to attempt to create a third party in this war.

Btw, I am working on the battles. I really, really, hope to get a few done tonight, with the rest to follow tommorow afternoon. (I have a 11:15 dismissal tommorow, so I will have a lot of time. )

Post Tue Nov 23, 2004 5:20 pm

@ jacob: So you do plan to attack me, then?

Just so you know, this is an unprovoked and outrageous attack, and the Chancellor and all Rhineland officials are insulted and disgusted. If you do declare war, however, we will only move in self-defense to keep our systems and bases.

OOC: If there is an attack (good idea, jacob), a house vs. house thing is fair. It's two factions equally matched attacking each other. Please no one else get involved on my side or jacob's. (I really want to face him and just him alone).

@ Sisko: We are conducting construction of our own yards, no longer of Kusari origin. Also we object to your move with the Samura, the Corsair Government has territory and an economy rivalling that of the House economies. We vouch for them. We have taken up the mantle of our ancestors and are House Hispania in all but name. We have proven ourselves in ending piracy, we moved quickly to ensure a ceasing of hostilities between Rheinland and Kusari and our forces have joined with all houses in stamping out criminal activity. Furthermore, we have openned up trade in the Sigma Systems to all and broken GMG strangleholds on the H-Fuel supply. We have proven ourselves, now allow us to acquire the necessary weapons to defend our space. The fact is, our bomber squadrons are more effective offensive weapons against cap ships, we only want defensive weapons, which is why we are acquiring battleships. I remind you, it is our intention of building a strong state that is a counter weight to major conflict by providing an X-factor. But if you continue to antagonize our right to self defense and soviergnty, we will be forced to look for allies, and it looks as if Rheinland is in the market.

Omega-11???
Lol, that's hillarious!
Have you been paying attention to my turns at all?
Go back, and look at the amount of forces that I have in that system.
You would die trying.
I'm gonna post a new turn soon, and you might want to pay a bit of attention...

Post Tue Nov 23, 2004 5:29 pm

maybe, but my force is pretty darn big. anyways, as I said I don't want a war. I don't know why you want one, so I can only assume this is a land grab. or system grab. whatever you call it.

Edit: ooh crap yeah that's a huge force. I mistook Omega 11 for Cortez (which is guarded by something like 20 LF wings so it would be pretty easy). However, my Dresden force is pretty big.

LBN Breaking News:

The Liberty Navy today has issued emergency redeployment orders to the Fleet. Battlegroups currently engaged with Bountry Hunter Guild forces are ordered to redeploy to the Kusari and Rhineland Borders as well as the Magellan system to protect against possible Hostilities against the corsairs.

At word of the formation of House Hispania which Liberty Officially does not recognize has ordered all Corsair craft from its space and has placed the Liberty Navy on an emergency war footing. Once considered a neutral force in the Sigma systems the Corsairs and Liberty Navy conducted peacekeeping missions together. These better times have recently fallen with the decision by the Corsairs to form their own House.

President Sisko today announced that should the Corsairs build a Capital shipyard and attempt to construct such ships they will be considered a rouge element and will target their instilations for dismantelment. Samura Industries is urged to remain neutral in this event and offers the Former Kusari and Rhineland Based Corperation sactuary in Liberty Space for the duration of the conflict should one breakout.

Liberty Forces are currently heavily engaged with the Bounty Hunters Guild and is preparing to redeploy its rapidly expanding fleet to defend Liberty Interiest.

In response to this brewing war between Liberty and the Corsairs (or House Hispania), Rhineland will peacefully decline to not be involved (bribery, however, is still an option if anyone wants an ally ). We wish to stay friendly with both factions.

Also, I'm going to combine the Unioners into Rhineland, so now I can build revolutionary bombers. and a +10 on my per turn credits.

@ Rheinland:

So long as the House Hispania maintains its friendship with Liberty, which is our sincerest wish. We will forcibly block any attempt by Kusari to take advantage of the Rheinlands weakness.

@ Sisko: You don't have a border with the Corsairs Liberty. The Blood Dragons, Samura, and the Corsairs are committed to maintaining peace. The development of the Battleships by us is not a threat to you. We are obviously not going to attack Rheinland or Kusari, were not strong enough. The only possible logic, is long term you have imperialist ambitions in our space, perhaps after Rheinland is conquered by you and your Bretonian allies. Your governments supposed peaceful intentions are exposed for what they are, a farce. Our bombers have far more effective offensive capabilities and these have never been a problem, its obvious what your forces want is a vunerable underbelly for after your conquest of Rheinland to push straight through and take Kusari. WE WILL DEFEND THE NEUTRAL ZONE AND ALL CORPORATIONS IN IT TO OUR DEATH BEDS!
