Hey there! Which software do you use...those models look very clean. Just curious as to polycount and things like that.

Hi all,

I have recently been working on the 'Archangel' , an idea inspired by Firebase's avatar:











One side thing I have been working on is single texture glowmaps .. these use a native freelancer 'switch' to turn them on similar to the many freelancer models with lit 'windows' and they can be varied in level of luminousity.. and a couple of other things.. more later..

Now this is not new.. I have done it before but had no volume control .. lol, thanks to some work by Argh and a bit of lateral thinking I finally realised that if you could light textures then you must be able to control the level of illumination.. Some more experimentation is needed but we may be able to 'emulate' nomad style textures.. I'm not explaining this very well .. more later

It shows great promise.. several planets bases have animated billboards (in case no one has noticed) .. now if that could be transferred to ships.. whoo.. however the processor capacity needed to display it in motion may be why DA never took it further..

Korben,

8 x Engine Hps... by placing them close and on the same plane you get this flat wide effect.. 4 is normally suffiicient to get it but these were placed with extras as the game model will have custom engine effects..

Hello everyone, I'm really new to this modding, but with the help from these great tuturials, Silent Jay and Beane I have been able to produce a few ships that are flyable.

Here are two of my ships. At the moment, I am just reusing FL skins, but slowly and surely thanks to Argh I am learning to make my own.
