sure no worries , ill uninstall it now , reboot, install reextract the mod (i do this everytime just in case) and then try to go through the tradelane

EDIT: just did the above

If your standing on the Battleship and looking at the tradelane to Texas the left hand side is fine , i cruised all the way up and rolled arounf the jump gate without a ctd

went back half way up the tradelane using cruise engines , turned and went through the tradelane , crashed like my earlier post but this time on the third tradelane out

restarted the game , changed ship to a thunderbolt , didnt bother with weapons or shilds at all , flew down the right hand side of the tradelane , crashed pretty quickly after doing so , wouldnt have even been to the forth tradelane from the battleship

It does rather sound like encounter problems. If you like Warzog, I could download the mod and look through the system files for you.

Did another test run , this time without the ships folder

Loaded up a new game , went to the battleship and saved , flew down the right hand side of the tradeland all the way to the jumpgate , no problems at all, had used a preset goto point till i was about 18 clicks from the gate , then clicked on the gate and used goto , all went well no crashs

Decided to go back to the tradeland and ry that to see if it was causing the problem , set a waypoint point (nice purple diamond) , clicked on it , hit go to .. traveled maybe 1 click , crashed to desktop

EDIT

Just tried something different. I put the ships back in to the game and edited a save game to make me friendly with everyone , then decided to fly from ithaca research station to the jump gate , set a waypoint and hit goto , tookmy hands off the keyboard and mouse , let the ship fly all the way to the gate without having any ctd's at all

decided to fly along side the tradelane for several sections and fly back down the tradelane , docked and flew to the gate no problems , no ctd's

however i then tried jumping to texas , ctd as the texas "map" was loading , i saw the Loading picture and then my desktop

edited the save game to put me on Planet Houston , loaded up went to the tradelane to the New York jump gate , couldnt even dock , hit dock got near it and you guessed it CTD

although things have moved on somewhat for you, warzog, I've just had some feedback from a m8 of mine who's been playing 2.5 on his Athlon systenm for the past month - didn't ctd once for him.

how are you getting on with 3 or have you sacked it? was thinking about d/l from Wcnews but chnaged my mind, prob a wise decision I'd offer to help you but my programming skills are almost non-existent..

v3.0 was a POC that failed miserably.
It should never have been released.

I believe I have discovered the problem...
The basic FL program was written to closely match the Sirius Sector.
Which basically means...
You can add-on, to your heart's content!
But mess with the Sirius Sector, in any way, and you'll pay dearly!

By rearranging the systems...
and changing the jumpgates/holes...
I seriously messed with Sirius!!!
And that's why there's so many CTD's!

As to the Athlon bit...
That's the main reason I believe that the "Texas CTD" is ship related.
Since the Athlon's and Pentium's handle graphics differently...
And v2.5 adds ships/icons...
(as far as graphics go)
And the problem usually occurs in space, where the ships are...
The problem has to be there.

However, I've been workin' on it since December, and have had nothing else on my new computer since I got it in April.

Hi Warzog
take as long a it takes have a cold beer reflect on the good things you have done for the freelancer comm and say to your self i deserve this then have an other one
and MAN KEEP up the Greatttt work that you and all the other modders do
Thanks to you all for making me play freelancer over and over again sometimes
two or three hours a day yes i am nuts/mad call it wot you will
