- in the 2nd mission i looted a lvl7 shield generator (had lvl1). well, that solved the problem with the shield messages, but it made the dogfights quite easy, so this shouldnt happen too often IMHO

Yes and I got 2 fusion guns, lvl.6 Shield generator and isometal armor. Btw thats not bad you can test them for game balance and look for buggs same time.
What realy is starting to annoy me is that I made changes in shiparc.ini but it still wont allow Banshee to dock, argh.

Ok, about Hakkara saving you on Takagi's Arch. He's in the Dagger still.

Oh, and um... that modification to the cruise engines makes that race in Dublin really really hard. Loaded my save 5 times (so 10 tries total) before I finally got it. Though that was probably because I was in a Centurion. I'd hate to have to try it in a Broadsword ::shudders::.

MHO about balance.....this drug runs are OVERprofitable.With Drone freighter I got a huge amount of money . 1700 ultimate(cardamine) Rochester-Manhattan.Light arms (don remember how much) Manhattan-Rochester.Voila! I'm rich.

I think that volume number of ultimate (space in cargo hold) must be increased from 0.1 to 1.0 or higher. It's "heavy drug" of some sort.
2.Accuracy and rate of fire of NPC ships must be drastically increased.Or maybe just not enough energy for their guns?(I'm not tested NPS loadouts yet)
3.Missile speed must be slightly decreased. In 99% you have no time to use countermeseures after message "IIIIIncooming missile!!!" before impact.(Or my reflexes is now not so sharp like in youth)
4.I noticed that NPC not use nanos and shield batts.Why? It's discrimination of NPC.They must have equal opportunities with player
All this IMHO and only IMHO.Uffff....very long post in foreign languge.

Been station hopping around sirius all day till i got to Montezuma base in cortez.
Was flying the drone version of "Galaxy" freighter. CTD trying to luanch. Cargo hold only half full.

Possible to add Kusari/Liberty/Rheinland to the milita factions? I have multiple neutral milita factions- dont know which is for who, also pertains to Confederation faction.

Someone saying about too hi of a cargo profit in NY, how about payin 480 for movies (30 cargo hold) in Leeds and sellin them at Nago or Shinkaku in Tau-29 for 192,000,000.
Yes thats right 192 million. Hey but then again u dont like the music, change the channel. You dont like the trade run, DONT RUN IT! Some of us cant spends hrs upon hrs straight jus to get the equipment to get started. Thats the whole point of playin a mod, new experience. If i want repetition, i'd go back to reg FL.

Max, you make some good points, but I believe that the stated purpose of the mod is to make it more like Wing Commander and privateer were. I spent many hours so that I could buy a better ship in Privateer, and the 20,000-30,000 credit level 1-3 missions, High loot value, and milk runs make it too easy. This is good for playtest IMO.

Update on the invisible Demon bug: it is visible from within a certain range only (perhaps range 20m) but it must be very close. Outside that range, the frame disappears, and the weapons are visible for a little beyond that.

Warzog you need to be commended for your fine work.

In regards to higher payout for cargo & missions, I like the change. It is nice for once to see that these have gone up rather than down or stayed the same. It makes it a bit easier to upgrade rather than like most where you have to paly hours on hours on hours just for a modicum of an upgrade.

Flying the Centurion made me notice one thing which could improve it's effectiveness. That is a reduction of the Y/P/R {{Yaw/Pitch/Roll}} settings. This is suggested because with bang-bang being mounted WC Style {static} it can be diff to track & effectively strike one's target. {{This may only be particular to MP as I have been playing on own server to avoid storyline.}}

I am puzzled by a few things though. Why the reduction across the board for bats/bots, missiles; etc.? Considering new rumors/news items? Going to add in Retros?

Law of Economics. If the value of the credit decreases by introducing more credits into the system, then the cost of goods increases to equivelant credit value.

The problem with the increased mission payouts is it *only* helps in single player. Which this mod was ultimately designed for by my guess.

A Multiplayer Server would want to reduce the amount of credits that go into the world by atleast half (in some cases more, like the 9 digit trade). It has been stated by the majority of those that play the MP games that the mission payouts and trade profits should be reduced, not increased.

It's that repetitiveness that gives longevity to a game. I mean, just look at games like Diablo II. How many thousands of people still play that stupid game just to get that uber-rare item in that new HC Ladder. I mean once you have 200m credits, the best ship in the game on 3 characters... what's the point in playing anymore? This very comment has been said numerous times about the TNG 1.7 mod.

I didn't realize how easy it would be to get into the pirate bases.
I guess I'll remove the mass on the commodities, that'll lower income a bit.
Also, I think that the bug that keeps you from taking off is also the bug that caused Gemini to not work, and the Galaxy and Tarsus to cause problems.

Sooo....
I've decided to do a semi-complete rewrite to try and find the bugs.
I've already found a few, but I'm not sure how many are left.

And to those who've had kind words...

warzog, Up, up and away!

I'm still lookin at the Demon, and its' visible range is 60m as near as I can make out. I Think I've ruled out the Shiparch, loadout, demon.sur and demon.mat files. I'm concentrating on the demon.cmp file. It COULD be the actual polygons of the thing, but I don't know...

Encountered problem with New York Texas tradelane when flying both Arrow and Stileto. After buying them and flying to Texas the game quits to desktop, every time.

The reason why it's so easy to get into pirate bases is because of the whole bribe system, and the fact start a new character, shoot down a couple of depots and your neutral to everyone. The only solution to this problem that I've seen is making it so that you have to be "Friendly" (or 8 boxes to the right) to the faction that owns the base in order to buy the commodity.

Another problem is the fact that pirates/militia take so long to scan you and order you to drop your cargo before they start firing that you can actually cruise away or land prior to them actually taking any action. When that window pops up saying to drop your cargo or decline, you can still enter flight commands and get away. Just cruise or land as usual leaving that window open and 9 times out of 10 you'll have no resistance. This is a bug in Freelancer itself, and I do not know how to compensate for it.

Is there any shield higher thn lev7 as I have just been playing WTS mod for months where you get 30k shield which makes you virtually indestructable

To Warzog and all others who made this mod possible: You've done a great job so far keep up the good work. Of all the WCs (1,2,priv1,rf) i've played i say we make a game based off this mod (priv 3!?!) you've done a truely great job. Also i'll be asking the programming classes in my schools (i go to a regular and a vo-tech) if they can somehow create a .sur file i've notcied many post on it and firuged you guys may want this info for later.
(also i'm still flying the "Death trap" and must say it flys just as good as the real one...but has much better hull)
