hmmm...
@warzog: i imported the tarsus, galaxy and 3 of the new ships into the mod.
then i played the mod flying a tarsus for 4 hours, used jumpgates and had some nice dogfights... but FL never crashed. would be nice if you could tell me where you had problems so i can check it.

but i got an other problem with my ships: they are invincible! you can crush the shields...and then.. nothing... no damage to the hull by guns... on the other hand if you use missiles you can destroy them...
is it because i haven't created .sur file ? if so could somebody tell me how to create them?

Ok some trade lanes and areas CTD. In Texas either cruising or using lanes to NY gate causes CTD. When I use longer way texas>california>NY it works without CTD. Dont know why but they do, its not the ships then, like I first thought. Btw the Lane Hackers Banshees really kick ass, auch.LoL

One more bug report.Often CTD leaving Trafalgar Base and nearby.Looks like some NPC ships (Corsairs or Molly) has faulty loadaout.Mayby stealth Demon?

The game crashes when you try to dock with buffalo.

Great mod Warzog and Team, I found one glitch not sure if it was mentioned before. I bought Gladius on Battle ship in Colorado. and Hard point 4 will not fire straight forwards, it will fire to the sides and at an angle down but not straight on. Keep up the great work

You need a SUR file, that's why you're invulnerable.
The crashes may not be due to the Tarsus, or Galaxy, but just showed up more often with them in.

To all:
I'm working on a rewrite.
Before I released the mod, I'd gotten into a rut testing it.
So, finding the bugs were harder.
Now that I have several places to check, the Texas tradelane, and Buffalo base, I'm narrowing it down.
Right now, it looks like the bug is in one of the 24 ships.
Still need to narrow it down to which file...
There's:
24 CMP files
24 Mat files
24 SUR files
15 npcship files
3 Loadout files
1 RTC file
1 Shiparch file
1 Fuse_Suprise_Arch file
1 SolarArch file
14 mission files
and the script.xml file.
It's gonna take time, so please be patient.

The "patch" solves the landing problem with the Banshee, and Vindicator, only.
The game crashing bug hasn't been found, yet.

Also, I downloaded an infocard writter from LR, and have made info cards for almost everything.
(They'll be in the next release.)

Warzog, Privateer sounds great....wish I could play it! I've done a complete reinstall of Freelancer, the SDK and FLMM 1.3 plus reinstalled the Privateer mod. Every time I activate the mod and hit 'Launch Freelancer' the game loads gets through the initial cut scenes and then crashes to the desktop, no error messages or nothin'. What's up and how do I fix this!? Any help would be appreciated!

brings back the old days
i have one bug to report when i tried to dock to tradelane @ freeport 4 to manchester sys i got the dreaded CTD
had to fly to the jumpgate to get there
keep up the good work (really like the crago setup..to bad we couldnt also get the cargo and escort missions)

Ohh man! I can't wait to get this up and running! Privateer and its addon Righteous Fire were the first Space Sims I've ever played, and I loved them! From all the comments, it seems that this mod is great. Now I just gotta find my FL CD (I know, I'm a Heritic)...

Anyways, I don't expect I'll be disapointed, so I go ahead and say this in advance: Great job man!

WOW! Very impressed with you mod! Great work!

Now for some feedback. I realize this is beta, so nothing is complete. I'm impressed with the work done so far!
I like the planetary rotation! It threw me off at first, but it definately adds a good feel to the environment! One time though, I went on a mission, came back to manhattan, and the rotation had stopped.
The ships are great! All those little talons flying around are great! Just like in the game.
The details you've put into this is awesome. The cargo from privateer, to the weapons and equipment. Nearly all of it is there! Great attention to detail!
The music is classic! It's great! However, as someone else I think pointed out, it may get a little repetitive without variety. Maybe you could import music from other wing commander games?
When I boarded the battleship near norfolk, I took a look at the ships for sale. The stilletto's textures looked like they were pretty screwed up. It seemed like the mapping was off.
I bought the Arrow, but when ever I try to take the tradelane to the texas gate, I get a CTD. The arrow also seems too sluggish for a light fighter. I remember in WC3 of how it could turn on a dime. Right now, it seems like it has the turning of a hellcat. Not too bad, but not too great either.
With the "shields failed" and "shields restored" thing, I think that the shields could stand to be down a little longer. If I remember right, in WC3, if your shields got knocked out on one section, only one bar of shields would recharge for a while, and any hits to that section would most likely result in bleedthough damage to the armor until the shields were able to recover.

That's all I can think of at any rate. I've only played for about half hour, so if I missed something, that's why. Anyways, back to Privateer, FL style! Looks like I'll have to replace the Arrow. GL with the mod, and again, great job so far!

edit: Hmmm, went back, and the stilletto textues were fine! Unfortunately, I can't take that to the texas tradelane from norfolk either without having a CTD.

Dear friends (because you are now my friends after this incredible Mod)

First, many thanks for this incredible Privateer Mod. I love the details like the Oxford music theme on Cambridge, the wing commander bar music ... etc. I love especially the Centurion. I have become 10 years younger. W O W !!!

I have played the game as a single player and were confronted with some bugs and difficulties.
- The Game crashes if I try to activate the trade lanes in the Kepler system
- The Game crashes if I try to start from Montezuma Base (Cortez system)
- Race against Hoovis has become quite tricky because cruise speed is too high and must be deactivated in the last quarter way of the race. (then with afterburner you win)
- It is not possible to go to the Alaska system in the President rescue mission and end the mission sucessfully, because Walker and the whole task force (except Juny and King) are stopping 16 km before the jump gate. The second wave of fighters is not coming ....uups nothing happens.....I'm stuck.
- Gladius Weapon 4 is not firing (same with Orion (turrets) and others)

Some remarks and wishes - (no critic just my impressions)
- Why is my beloved Orion-Tank so weakly armoured ?????????????
- IR and IFF Missile are in my eyes too powerful (damage output and too fast) for the available shields ......Sure in the original Priv I have killed a lot of Talons with a twin IR Salvo but .......
- Torpedo too powerful because no locking time is necessary and damage output is immense. So it is quite easy to kill a lot of cruisers and battleships. (downgrade it perhaps a little bit and load only four in the torpedo launcer)
- The ships are dropping for my taste too much good equipment. So it is too easy to get a fully equipped Centurion.
- Sure you can go everywhere before the story line, but only in a few systems you can get missions. (Come back later if you are a more advanced pilot -- I must love I'm the best)
- The Hellcat for Mercs ??? Please give this piece of shi.... back to the confed as a punishment for the poor soldier boys and girls. (I have always hated the Cat. HaHa)

I think wulfgar has some points in his expressions..in privateer i always chose the orion (i thought it looked cool and it had a lot of armor, but i was only 6 or so, so dont blame me for the wrong choise =) And i think it could get another turret =)....still no bugs encountered though...just played for 15 minutes or so =)

I've always loved Privateer, and the Privateer mods are awesome, but my problem with the new one is that even when I delete the autosave after activating the mod, it will not load it. It crashes right after the Freelancer screen.

Use Hovis-hack it works with most mods.

Yeah I remember it to from WC4, but in this mod its better. Faster then Arrow, two thruster slots, more armor. Its a flying tank and second choice affter Centurion for me. Personaly I think ship balancing can wait for now, first lets find the buggs.
Bugg report in Cortez system tradlane to Magalean jumpgate causes CTD. Norfolk shipyard tradlane to texas jumpgate has been mentioned! Question is can you use texas jumpgate without CTD?
