You probably already know of this, but I'll post it in case you don't. Here's some WC music. Maybe you can use some of this in the mod?

Uh... Ya, he already knows. That's the site he got the Privateer Music iirc. The problem I think he was stating was it would drastically increase the size of the mod. Freelancer uses .wav format for music, and when you convert mp3 to wav you drastically increase the file size.

Personally, I just turned the music off in the game and run Winamp in the background.

Ah, ok, I see. Sorry 'bout that then.

black_phoenix:
Doubtfull, but in v2.4, I'm using the same ones on every ship, just in case.

Hole in Head:
I've been using the Texas Lane, and Buffalo base.
Buffalo base seems to be the most consistant for detecting the bug.

arbitriter:
I've edited the DLL's to added the new faction names in some of the rumors.
I still need to find where the bar ones are.
As far as the speech, I can't change those.

Hole in Head:
As uicathain mentioned, the music files are HUGE!!!
The music ranges from .4mb to .9mb, the ships are only .3-.5mb each.
And people would rather have the ships than the music. But we put enough in to capture the mood, and activate the nostalgia!
We went through several, and picked the music that people liked the most.
And considering that I had to upload the mod in 2 pieces, adding just a couple more songs would make it a 3-part upload.

Chemus:
Good News/Bad News:
The Orion fix is Perfect!!!
(It's in v2.4!!!)
The Talon...
It's pulling a Demon when used as the MTalon.
And I still can't get it to fire missiles.

UPDATE:
Updated the bar rumor's DLL.

Shuffled some ships around:
Juni's flying a Gladius, not the Arrow, but may change that to the Morninstar.
The Order has exclusive rights to the Thunderbolt.
The Mercs have exclusive rights to the Centurion.
Gave the Stiletto to the Mercs.
Made the Hellcat a civillian ship.
The Blood Dragon's are in Gladius' for now.

I've still got to test:
Broadsword
Crossbow
Drone
Morninstar
Paktahn
Paradigm
The Nomad Fighter slot.
The Gunboat Slots.
(Everything else is working, with no crashes!)

Swiftr is working on the Voice mod.
(Hopefully it'll be in v2.4)

Also...
I'm hoping that the ship-related bug was the reason that the Gemini Sector kept crashing.
(If it is, the Gemini Sector will be in v2.4)

I'm holding the Merc's Light Fighter slot open for the Demon.
(in case it gets fixed.)
If it doesn't, I'm gonna replace the Demon with the Orion.
(Which is the Merc's Gunboat anyway.)

Im trying to run the new 2.3 full mod. I get this error in mod-manager:

Error: FLMM has determined that 'Privateer: The Reckoning mod Beta v2.3' won't properly activate.
Error: Unable to find section '[Trigger'(...) in 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\Data\Missions\M02\m02.ini'

Any suggestions?

Reinstall the FL SDK INIs. That should do the trick.

Thanks

Few sugestions.
Military ships coul be sold on military bases and ships. Planets sell civilian ships(Orion, Tarasus, Galaxy, Centurion, Demon). BW ships sold in BW region. Rheinland Drone "Galaxy" replaced with Dromedry. Starting missions pay should be smaller & few hig risk hig reward missions thrown in.

Out of curiosity is there a way to make NPC ignore PC with a button push? Scrip would be something like this. When pushing a button NPC think your ship was destroyed, but it didnt. Push it again and the script is ignored and they will lock on to you. Anyway this is just an idea not sure it can work but still.

hmm... I think it is time to figure out which ships are being used different factions. 'Cause what I see is: Morningstar is being flown by Juni, Order has the Thunderbolt (which is a bit outdated by the time the mod takes place), confed militia flies dunno what and so on... so ships from different eras are simply mixed together.

Tolwyn:
I've set up the ships to give an over-all Wing Commander/Privateer "Feel" to the game.
In every Wing Commander/Privateer game, it is assumed that ships and environment of the other games exists in another section of the Wing Commander Galaxy.
Since we are not recreating any one particular Wing Commander/Privateer game, but taking ships from every game, I had to come up with a way to integrate ships from different eras and sectors (games) into a cohesive form.
Freelancer is a game full of Pirates, Smugglers, and Alien invaders.
That is the same premise for Privateer...
So I started with that.
And since Freelancer, and Privateer, take place in a Sector, and not onboard a Battleship, or other similar military ship, I had to come up with a viable environment.
For those who are familiar with the early Wing Commander games, we have the Epee, Hornet, Sabre, Ferret, and a few others.
Since, in real-time, and game-time, this is much later, rather than making those older ships more prominent, I made them background ships.
This gives the feeling of a post-war environment, sorta like the "Barn-Stormers" who, after World War I, took old, out-dated, military craft, and made a living using them.
To make the Confed, Police, and the Pirate worlds appear to be constants throughout the game, I've given every Navy the Gladius, the Police the Talon, and the Pirates the Talon.
This gives the overall impression of being back in Privateer 1, which is how Freelancer is set up as, anyway.
As the Wing Commander III & IV games, along with Privateer 1, are the most popular, I've tried to make the ships from those games more visible, and desirable.
The Bounty Hunters, Mercs in Privateer 1, use their Privateer 1 ships: the Demon, Stiletto, and the Centurion.
The Border Worlds use their ships from Wing Commander: The Banshee, and the Vindicator.
The Kilrathi use their ships: Dralthi IV, Vaktoth, Gothri, and the Paktahn.
Juni, who is in a secret organization, uses a Top Secret ship-the Morningstar.
The Navy, Confed, has: the Gladius, Crossbow, and the Broadsword.
The Order should have a ship like the Dragon, or the Excalibur, but as we don't have those, they got the Thunderbolt.
Seperating the ships, and the mod, into vignettes is not that feasible in Freelancer as one might think.
Next time you're on Manhattan, watch the ships flying by...
They're from everywhere, and include almost every ship in the game.
Keeping Wing Commander ships in one area, which represents one game, is impossible.
So...
I've done the best I could to create a universe that is united, diverse, and I hope, faithful to the Wing Commander and Privateer games that we all love.
And as the old saying goes:
You can make some of the people happy all of the time...
You can make all of the people happy some of the time...
BUT...
You can't make all of the people happy all of the time!
I've done the best I can, with what I've gotten.

UPDATE:
I've found a cause, if not the main cause, of the crashes:
I substituted the Drone for the Nomad Fighter & Nomad Gunship.
With the Drone out, I'm not getting the crashes, but in, it crashes all over the place.
I still need to finish testing the remaining ships, but I believe that this was the only bug in the mod.
