Freelancer Cargo Computer

There is a new program on the block, and this one is the Freelancer Cargo Computer. Just enter your starting location and your destination and it will give you the profitable runs. It also has other lookup lists, such as Location Owner, System it's in and Ships for sale. You can look up the prices and locations of any/all commodities.

Since I don't have a web page ... yet, let me know if you would like to receive it via email. At 270K, it's a pretty small program.

If anyone would like to host it on their site, please feel free, just let me know where so I can notify you of updates (if any).

I can be reached at love2code @hotmail.com

Really cool little program. It'll let me get rid of all those bits of paper with prices and locatuons scrawled on them. Well done.

DA really should have buiult something like this into the game. Trent should be able to access all the info he has gathered more intelligently than they let you. Something this built into the interface would have done the job nicely, with the only difference being that it would only contain the info for theplaces you'd visited, of course.

I have also just finished a program like the one you mention.
Mine is just an online application.
I am just waiting for my host to send me my SQL server 2000 login information so I can upload the 2 MB comprehensive database...
Well, I worked closesly with officials from Lancers Reactor..
It should be up and running within the next few days =)

hey Love2Code.. great program, as my email to you said (from Patrick 'Romeo' McCann).

quick question for you though...

would I be right in thinking that the top computational area only shows those trades that return a profit? I was listing Planet Manhatten as my starting location, and when I changed the destination location and pressed compute, I would get a different list of commodities for each destination.

I'm sure this is the case, just wanted to clarify that with you.

Cheers.. and keep up the excellent work

That is correct. It only shows the profitable runs. If you want to see all of what a location sells or buys, just choose the Location on the bottom right.

I am working on a new version with a completely different look and feel. It allows you to run searches by single location, system, territory, or anywhere to the same options. I have it working now, but I left the source code at work and will not be able to get to it until Monday (3/17/03). I would expect to have it posted either Tuesday or Wednesday for the masses.

Running a search from Anywhere to Anywhere takes a little time. There are almost a million combinations to check. I think most people will enjoy the new version when it's released.

As always, I'm open to comments and suggestions.
