Freelance2, what it should have;

We should be able to see other folks in the bar, IE other pilots.
We should be able to interact with them, buy them a beer or kick there b~tt..
We should be able to trade with them,,,, ECT..

Face to face, split screen with pop down menu with a list of interactions...
I don't think a first person shooter would be needed, just away to interact other than a chat window inflight..?

PS: Well I asked the question and the responce has been huge! Most have very good insights.. I just hope DA and the folks that made FL take a look at the lists..2-21-03

Full modability! So we can create our own unique universes.

Also the multiplayer should be fine tuned so that it can support even more players easily without lag.

Hmm, mp3 player ala Grand theft auto 3. Cupholders too. Cupholders are always good. Unless some bonehead puts them in front of the radio, then it's a pain.

New hidden treasures to find.

Enhanced ship scanners for very long range scanning and magnification.

Ability to own multiple ships and switch equipment from one to the other.

Some new frontiers to explore (But not so much it takes 4 years to create. Better would be a much smaller new frontier that is hard to find, hard to get to, hard to get around in, but with so many great goodies that it is definitely worth it (like a huge Alien battle debris field or a "before time" Alien base that you can explore)).

I'll be happy if they even BEGIN developing Freelancer 2, since the space genre is not such a hot commodity.

I would like to see a more dynamic economy (of course I may change my mind after playing).

I would like to not have to assume the identy of trent or anyone else (can't remember if you played someone specific in privateer or not).

I would like to see a ton of work go into random missions (not to imply a ton didn't go into Freelancer)... with AI advancing along with raw processor speed, it seems like a lot of progress could be made in dynamic storytelling.

Freelancer 2? You guys have not even got to play the final release of Freelancer yet and your complaining about what Freelancer lacks? Wait until you atleast play the final version before you say it lacks some things.
