No really he's going to buy it.
I'll bet you guys the $5 I didn't spend on reserving FL

Well, I hope you are going to buy it. It will be well worth it. You get the manual and probably a map of the starsystem. Plus MP will be worth the price of the game not counting the SP game.

amen Cypher Pack...amen!

Not to mention the fact that even the hackers can't hack something that's not even there... the 10 mission limit is very likely hindered by the fact that the code for the remaining 3 or so missions isn't even there!!... love to see a hacked version of nothing... I wonder what it would look like... pretty boring methinks

I've collected the reviews... the movies... the screenshots... asked the questions... read the answers... even perused the spoiler forum... heck, I could do the Kazaa thing..... but nothing substitutes the excitement of peeling open that shrink wrapping and opening the Freelancer box for the first time in ones life. You only get that feeling ONCE.

I am going to wait for the retail version coming out on march 4th.

Playing other games as I wait

The oficial demo and the PR copy are 2 completly diffrent things. The Demo will be an official release which is made to give you a taste of the full game, how it plays, looks, runs and ultimatly help you decide if you want the full product. The PR copy is an incomplete version of the game, may well contain bugs, have areas you cant visit and presents to you a incomplete universe to play in.

Both are diffrent but given the choice i'll take the official demo every time. Roll on release day....

well, I can't hide the that waiting part is killing me. If I had a PR demo, I'd probably be playing it as we speak but I don't have it. Instead, I recently re-installed Starlancer and I am going through it once more. Unfortunatly, my Pc is too recent +win xp to run privateer although I am considering getting my wife's old 166MMX from her mother's place here so I can play some old games.

Anyway, EVEN if I had a PR built which would be virtually complete beside some modifications made for the final version, I'd still be buying the full game when release. Right now, it would simply be a matter of filling the hole while wiating for the final game.

The PR beta is a incomplete version of Freelancer..trust me. If any of you PR owners think all your going to need is the PR version to play...are going to be missing out on some unkown things and secrets in the game. Remember...DA said there is 48 "known" systems in the game. Do not fool yoursefl in thinking your going to get everything in the PR. Go out and buy the full version when it is released. Also doing that will help ensure a followup expansion pack in the future.

I do it like Infidel and Guibs. I will wait for the real thing (perhaps trying the official demo though). Until then my poison of choice are the Freespace games.
