Ideas for Freelancer 2

When You Click On New Game It Will Show The Nomad's Has Been Released From That Hole Thing And Then Almost All Of The Order Will Be Defeted... And Then You Can Choose What Caricter You Want TO Be, Trent, Orrion, Juni, and King And Then Some Person Went And Gave The Person You Choose The Secret Of Cloaking Device and How And Where To Get It...

hiya ladies and gentlemen, i lik the idea of houses, stations that u own n all but wot sort of customisations are u talkin about, changin the colour, addin a spoiler maybe a massive sub in the cargo hold, theis isnt 'FreeLancer underground' this is just Free lancer. the idea is a fair one but cumon ur trying to mix 2 different genres. yea FL needs to be updated with new places to go and of coruse new ships but this would take it to far i reckon. i do lyk the idea of an open game where u choose the way it play out to aid the corairs in annilating the red hessien (again i cant spell tonight). also a gd idea is to b able to give orders to a wing man, lyk attack my target, defend me ect this would give the game a new twist, wot do u think black hole?

Mixing 2 different genres? More like 5. Customizable ships will go as far as custom skins which should allow for any design you want. Freelancer underground? How in gods name does letting someone customize their ship skin turn this into a new genre? Descent 3 did that, and is it GTA? No! Customization is not going "too far" in any way. As for the commands, thats already been thought of, read the design document.
Mind you, it's been 800 years since we saw anything of the Coalition, so who's to say there's even a "Coalition" anymore. In that amount of time, people, governments and ideals change (many times). And with the Alliance crushed, they had no major enemies, and they probably became less warlike and more peaceful.
And lets not forget that since it was hundreds of years since the war ended, the whole thing would be little more than a far distant memory - remembered only in history books and vague stories passed down through generations.
Though it would be nice to see the Sol system, and how things are after all those years. All I'm saying is that it's not realistic to expect the same old warlike Coalition to just magically appear one day.

i've been thinking a lot of time about Freelancer 2 and many ideas came in my mind.
1-Ships- A larger range of customization to your ship(engine choosing, adding new hardpoints, variable speed to different ships, power plant choosing, tractor beam choosing, many types of fuel for the ship, larger or smaller fuel tanks, headlight choosing and other lights, registration numbers, possible uprgrade of the ship, a more developed cockpit view with many gauges,
2-Commodities- Many new ilegal commodities(drugs,artifacts,stolen data,secret codes).Commodity licence(eg. Licence for food, for pharmaceuticals, for weapons, for other new commodities). Possibility of trading with other NPC's directly from open space with negotiation of price. Commodities on planets and bases should have a limited quantity for sale,prices should rise if quantity is low an vice-versa, comodities may dissapear from lack of production or lack of ships comming in or out.
3- Gameplay(this is the most intresting part,read it,please)
-possibility of buying garage for you ships(so you will have more than one ship)
-possibility of buying a depot to store your commodities(and store them in refrigerators if needed(eg. luxury food, alien organisms etc.)
- these depots and garages should be available to buy on every planet or station.
-every garage and depot should be independent from others(so you can't take any ships you have from your same base.
-possibility of calling rescue service(if you're out of fuel),howevr this service will function as long as you are good with the house police(if it will exist any house)
-possiblility of being arrested(so you will not die and load the game to continue),or being kidnapped by pirates(if they are in the mood),taken to hospital etc.
- so if you have fuel, it will be a need of gas stations
- another fuel for the ship will be the oxigen you breathe the water you drink and the food you eat,the ship will stock a limited amount of oxigen ,water and food for the player so these will have to be loaded once in a while.
-every station should have hull damage so you can destroy them,but if they are damaged,some repair ships should come and repair the station;if the station is destroyed, it will be reconstructed by some Construction Machineryes in a few days,moths,years...who knows..
-A real time gameplay should be integrated, so you know how many days passed in the game,and also how much time will take to reconstruct the possibly destroyed bases
-more types of missions(not to mention because they have been already mentioned)
-a 3d dock to planet feature so you can control your ship while docking to a planet
- ORBITING PLANETS AND MOONS(including stations)
(optional because it will be a little disturbing)

When Freelancer first came out i had doubs about buying it.But i downloaded the demo of the game from the internet and i saw how magnificent it is.
Freelancer is one of the best games ever and i know many of you agree.But when ithink about it's sequel or even expansion so many things cross my mind.
The ideas posted are excellent,so i don,t have to repeat any of them.I just want to say that Freelancer has more potential than almost any other game and if we are manage to persuade Microsoft to think about a sequel or an expansion every Freelancer fan would be excited.I also want to say that the mods for this game are excellent and i admire the work of Chips etc.

Ok, first post. I've been out of the loop for so long. Sorry if I restate something.
Main Ideas:
Gravity to some extent
Realistic-ish physics (So that you dont just slow down when you throttle back, at the very least, small vapor jets shooting out of certain areas, like the space shuttle, no fuel required, automatic.)
Strategic places to hit on larger enemies, weak spots, marked/unmarked at players choice.
Already stated good ideas:
Skins/Painting
Some scaling adjustment (not too much, spaceflight is monotonous)
Escape pods (Pilotable?)
Wingmen/Gunners
In game, pilotable gunships (Expensive?)
'Sell all uneqipped items' button
Destructible items
Etc.
You get the idea
