Has anyone managed to contact Digital anvil about a sequel t

I'm just curious if this company is even considering a sequel. I have heard nothing from Digital Anvil about this on any of the message boards I've seen and the Microsoft site is static. Anyways, I'm just looking for some hope. Otherwise, maybe it's time for me to bury the issue. It wouldn't hurt them to at least give an expansion a shot, but honestly, if nothing is in the works by now I doubt it will happen.

right im going to say this once, when starlancer was 1st produced, i heard it was ment to be the 1st title in a triolgy,

1st - Starlancer - The begining of the war
2nd - *****Lancer - End of the war
3rd - Freelancer - New start for humanity

and in my opinion since mircosoft gained a hand in digital anvil, and freelancer not being a great sucess i doubt that we will see anymore games in the lancer series which is sad but im always hopeful, (i still want a new wing commander game - oh well thats just me).

as a reminder - this is what i was told when starlancer was 1st released almost years ago, so dont take it as correct.

I was going to, but i never got to it. I was just going to write a letter to them, saying we are all wondering if threre will even be a sequel. Too many distractions to do that though. School, vacatcion, (sp?) jobs, (yes, I have a job :p. Even if it is just babysitting).

Ohhh! Beu-tiful! Preeety! How do I blow it up?

search through all the FL2 topics, im sure i remember someone saying it was going forward but then again that could just be a rumor, or someone trying to get attention.

Is DA even its own entity anymore? As it is bought out by MS, I would have thought MS would just farm out all the employees to its different divisions rather than keeping it as a separate entity with a mind of its own.

FL2 will be out in next few years, take it easy and have fun in the meanwhile.

How do you know there will be a sequel? There probably will be, but we want some info.

There are a lot of rumours on a FL sequel, but I'm sure DA will not announce ANYTHING before they are quite sure they have a release date they can keep! Anybody remember how FL did in this department?!?!?

the amount of people that have joined this site since freelancer came out is amazing, and i havent seen any copies of freelancer on my local store (I live in a capital city ) so, I believe it has done quite well, sales wise.

@Duriel_LOP - pop along to Amazon.com, and get it from there, its ony £30 over here in the UK, so it shouldn't be too much elsewhere!

I would say that considering the integrity with which FL was produced and written, I doubt there will be a second installment.

They barely finished the first one.

Good?....Bad?......I'm the guy with the gun.

Okay, now MY curiosity has officially been piqued.

I was quite good at this years ago when there were rumors flying around and I'm looking at several indicators (weak as they may be) that "could" mean good things for us fans of Freelancer. The environment is ripe for something on the horizon. Digital Anvil folks are awesome when it comes to keeping their traps closed about rumors.... BUT

There's definately ZERO signs that a sequel, expansion or completely new game based on the same engine is not in our future.

Sales have been good to great depending on the country you pull stats from. The fan base is certainly here. The first game was groundbreaking in it's design (thus some of the holes many are so quick to point out).

I've got a good feeling aobut this, I really do. If I'm wrong, many of you know I'll be the first one to step up and take my hits. My predictions of a release date were not accurate for Freelancer, and I owned up to that. But once I knew a bunch of info I was convered by the all mighty NDA.

But when the NDA was lifted by gawd I was here informing the troops as well as many other beta testers.

Not much has changed on what we bring to the Freelancer world here, only the year.
