still playing freelancer?

still playing freelancer?, i have seen people online playing that have been there for months. HOW CAN PEOPLE DO THIS?
I got bored of the game offline in 2 weeks and online in another 2 weeks, do these people own any other games?
This just seems so wierd how people can still play after all this time.
Who else got bored like i did? What game did you turn to next?
I pulled out starcraft: brood war for another go.

Not using spoilers or cheats helps.

I am still searching for stuff and generally exploring.

I think the games got plenty of life after it, you can't tell me in two weeks of offline and two weeks online you've really had the best of it.

You got what you consider the best ship? (Let's not discuss it it's down to personal choice)
You got what you consider the best weapon?
You friendly with most factions, so you been most places?

etc.. etc... plus mods and loads more.

I'm sure it's not the only thing that everyone here plays but there is more than most to keep you coming back when you finish the plotline.

Its fair to say that not everybody likes this sort of game...but it has SOOO much depth, I find it hard to believe that anybody could have got the best out of it in 2 weeks.

Did you finish the campaign? Did you explore every system? Or did you just mod it up from day one?

This is exactly why I haven't modded yet and I've no intention to hit the MP servers until I think I've got everything out of the SP.

If you're so bored with the game, why are you looking at this site???

I think the mods are what give this game soo much replayability. Try out some of the mods out and play on some of the modded servers.

Khoas
TNG
Level 2
Battleclinic
massive add on

They all make the game more fun once you've finished with the stock setup.

On the other games issue, I play a lot of Star Fleet Command(all versions) online when I'm not playing Freelancer.

Ive been playing for about two months now and i still get 100% enjoyment out of the game(im an old elite fan from Speccy 48k)even if i do get cained alot
I dont see the need to mod at all(My pref)or at least untill you have played the game right through, both MP & SP and i doubt you could have been everywhere in 2 weeks unless you play for hours on end daily.
I can understand non-modded SP getting boring after a while and MP to if you dont talk to anyone and lone it!!
My suggestion is make yourself some mates online/join a clan or as mace says"Try out some of the mods out and play on some of the modded servers."
At the end of the day any game is what you make it and if you get bored and dont like it anymore,so be it,move on to another

I also play countless other games,to many to mention but my main time is spent on freelancer, you just cant beat it,best game ever next to Elite
Just thought id throw my tuppence worth into the convo.
Take it easy peeps

I agree this is an odd place to voice such a concern. I am leaving the country on Monday and am sad as hell about not being able to return to the Freelancer world for 2 years while I am gone. There are still things that I want to do, factions that I want to try, and servers and mods out there to experience.

I just hope that there is something like a community here when I get back, and at least one person running an MP server. Perhaps every game collects its die-hards, and maybe that’s what most of the people here are now.

You're going to a country without any electricity? Maybe you can't play MP, but you can still play SP and use mods. I work and live in a country with essentially cr*p phone connections, so I don't try MP. But it doesn't stop me from enjoying Freelancer.

"I work and live in a country with essentially cr*p phone connections"

So do I puke...they call it england.

Well, you've got a point there. But here I keep getting disconnects. Just did when I was about 95% into a download. ARGGGGG!!!

the word "disconnects" implies that you managed to connect in the first place! better than my BT connection thats for sure! (I rely on my work's connection to write to the forums!)

roll on october 15th - broadband comes to my area at last

@ Puke (love the name): Yup. Malawi is where I'm going (southeast Africa), and I am living in a place with no running water, yet alone electricity or phone lines. I just hope my malaria medication-induced trance reminds me of those friendly trade lanes…

Sorry England has cr*p connections...all the UK servers I play on don't seem too bad.
