Malawi? Ex-Nyasaland ... I went to uni with a tribal princess from there. (Name was Alice. Not a lot of princesses named Alice, I'll bet.) Could be a lot worse. At least you're not going to Zimbabwe - aka Mugabeland. Maybe you can find an FL server in Souf Africa.

p.s. Not VSO, CUSO or Peace Corps? Give my regards to Dr Livingston.

How about a laptop with FL on it???

What I like about it is that you can always change your destiny. You can have one profile as a hero, one as a pirate and so on or, if you're tired of a profile being a good guy, it's so easy to turn.

I find great enjoyment in this game, knowing that I control my own fate.

I'm still playing this game, because I love blowing stuff up! Obviously, I'm easily entertained. There's nothing like a good dog fight to make you feel better(only when you win, of course).

I think the game is dying away anyway. There are still a bunch of people that have been playing it forever, but the numbers seem to be dwindling. People that stay for a while usually have some interest in what is going on in the game, such as clan issues and personal grudges. Things like that keep people in the game. That is what MP is about.

if you dont play the game anymore (why not?!??!) you dont need to come online to tell people that you are finished with it...a thread that will certainly get you on people's bad sides...plus, starcraft?!?! i got bored of that pretty fast...ive been playing freelancer for 5 months now and i still like it as much as the day i got it

im making toast

I still haven't found everything there is to find in the game. (I'm trying not to use spoiler maps etc.) Also, I DO go out to work, to carouse etc. I like PC games, but they are the be all and end all of my life ... FL is just something I enjoy playing to relax.

I finished the game, got almost tired of it.
Then I pulled out the toolbox, and now the game lives. It is so funny to mod it, then test your results, Über missiles, beam weapons, powerful nuke launchers, Battleships, king of the space, ramming, sun crashing! I can keep mentioning all my fun for hours, I just cant get enough of it...

I probably don't play the game as often and as much as the rest of you guys (maybe 3-10 hours a week), but I really can't get enough of it. I've glanced at the completed nav map on this site occasionally and I still haven't found all of the secrets in the game. Even when I've unlocked every system I can't see myself getting bored with it quickly. Its fun to occasionally kill your allies and turn them into enemies, you get a whole new feel to the game, and get to see a whole different world of bases.

And I still haven't spent more than 20 minutes on MP!! This game won't die for a long time yet. Not everyone out there playing it are hardcore games junkies...there are still people like me who just pick it up when they can.

Have you noticed that "Agent Smith" the starter of this thread hasn't replied once?? I reckon he was just some 12 year old brat who wanted to wind everyone up - and it looks like he succeeded. Someone should lock this thread so he doesn't get any more satisfaction from it.

Because you dont play the game 24/7. I play it one week and then let it sit there for 2 weeks...

Post Tue Sep 02, 2003 8:05 am

ok, so maybe it was more like 1 month sp and 2 weeks mp,
i saw every system, flew most ships, didnt cheat, didnt use mods,
got almost all codenames and got some nomads,
it got a bit repetitive flying around, trading isnt really fun, fighting gets boring after the (incomplete) storyline ends. there was nothing left to do, so i got a mod(rebalance) it was ok, but suffered from the same problems as the regular game(although not as easy). In closing, i DO NOT have a short attention span
i..... OOO that dog has a puffy tail! heeheehee come here puff!
