Freelancer: Evolutions 1.28 Announcement Thread
Here you can find news, get help and comment about all the Mods for Freelancer created by Pathfinder Studios, such as the ?Evolutions Mod?
Fraid not - that ship was made by Firebase (or Sun Striker), and i have to say that it does look great, and a massive improvement from the guy on textures as well. Proves he has come a long way since first starting. He has made it for a mod called "David Hunter 4" - which is an ambitious, but exciting sounding project. They do have a thread here (well, about 4) on this forum - so use a search or check the "date goes back" and look at threads from around Feb or so, and you should find one. That will be able to tell you more details etc
AAARRRGGG! Stop it Chips, lol. We are already bordering on insanity!
Really though, can't wait. I been looking forward to this for.......I forget!

I've tried the FL Evolutions 1.28 and have found following bugs:
Major, most annoying:
1) docking problems with lots of bases - mostly shipyards (the docking cinematic is not OK, also my ship sometimes seems to moor, (not dock) with the station, and it suddenly loads the launch pad room)
2) There's patrol path map missing in Florida system
3) voice communication (hail) skips the names of new bases (but this wouldn't be easy to fix, I think)
4) one last thing - the Prague base. This really made me upset. PRAGUE IS NOT IN GERMANY! so whyisthat a Rheinland base!? Please tell the person who did this mistake that he is an geographical analphabet and that is's shame on him if he won't fix it soon
Minor bugs:
1) tradelane lights in Florida have disappeared (but this system is great, finally someone got the idea to make systems really 3D a bit)
2) jumpgate + tradelane labels are confusing (for example "immigration -> Florida -> California" should be "immigration -> California jump gate" as it is in the original Freelancer)
3) please change the images for some of the new energy stuff, I spend much time looking for the piece of equipment I need. It's very boring.
4) the asteroids and debris should NOT get through the tradelanes (again, an example from Florida: planet Unity->big crossroad (that station looks like West Point ma))
finally... I thank you all for making such a wonderful mod full of surprises. I enjoy it.

Docking sequence is like that because of the increased solar radius, allowing capital ships to dock at stations they'd normally get stuck in. It looks weird, but it sure beats the alternative.
EDIT: Also, to the one whining about Prague: LIVE WITH IT. Last time I checked, Baden Baden wasn't in Germany either. And Pittsburgh isn't in New York.

Chips why is it that when you dock at most of the stations the commentary is all wrong, it gives you the correct name but then says please dock at gate 8 as far as I no there are no bases with 8 docking points.
I no this is only a small point and I no there is probably a very good reason for it but its bloody annoying.
Also is it possible to kill the nomads as I flew to the unknown jump hole in Alpha in a Hellhound, class 10 shield basically the best of everything and the moment I saw them they fired and I was no more.
Also do they still drop guns.
One more thing what does it take to kill a Hessian S.H.F I can take down the shields but have so far been unable to take down any of the hull, I have tried using 2 class 9 Long Beam the shield dropped instantly but the hull was undammaged.
P.S why have you got liberty guns for sale at the border station between Berlin and Frankfurt, and why is the extra system in Honshu populated by Liberty Rogues this just doesnt make any sense the Rogues teritory ends at Shikoku but they have a stronger presence in the Honshu system than in Liberty space.
