[QUOTE=Black Eagle - I'm not really sure, which parameters are set automatically, when creating a new object (As you said in your last post), but the modder should still be able to change them afterwords (For special systems, etc.)

I think that (I swear, I've seen it in some programs) You should make a dropdown so the not-so-skilled user can choose something from the list.

but, make the dropdown text replaceable with text of your own for advanced effects only achievable this way.

sounds tricky programming-wise (I'm no programmer but I have a feeling such a feature won't be easy to make)

BmB23 : make the dropdown text replaceable with text of your own for advanced effects only achievable this way.

Its already the way all the dropdowns work. And more than that, in the program folders, theres one called "DATA" where the data for all the dropdown lists are (in txt format), and you can add yours so they'll show up in the list.

Some other things i've added :

- Planets/Stars icon size varies depending on the radius
- Docking Ring Installer (for planets, 8 cardinal points, will set the base name if the planet has one)

v0.2 is now available at the top of this thread. Pictures have also been updated

I hope eveyone likes it, there are still a few things to do but they'll have to wait as I have other projects in the works.

If you have ideas or would like something being done, like for example: a trade/patrol path maker (which will be made eventually) please post them, suggestions/comments welcome too

PS : The TL Builder has 3d capabilities but its still not perfect.. so use at your own risk! hehe

oh, and just a question, are you working on zoom feature? high precision would be great

and can we possibly hope for a sidelook window in future versions?

Post Thu Jan 27, 2005 10:09 am

Ok here's 2 files for those who have no idea how to start editing systems..

GettingStarted.txt
MyMod.zip
I suggest you read carefully the text file.

As for a zoom, like I mentionned in my very first post, I dont think I could accomplish that, or a sidewindow..

Post Thu Jan 27, 2005 1:09 pm

Ok when I try to start it I get an error message- "Component "MSCOMCTL.OCS" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" This happen to anyone else?

Hey thanks for the fix it worked. I don't know if you can do this but have you considered putting in a shortcut to start freelancer right there, like Far Cry editor, maybe putting you directly in the system you're editing?

Post Thu Jan 27, 2005 3:35 pm

Oh yeah and is there no way to determine where on the universe map a system star shows up?

Post Thu Jan 27, 2005 4:00 pm

you can doublie click on a system to check its coordinates.
System coordinates for the universe map are located in the universe.ini
(you can also move systems on the universe map using the arrow keys)

And I dont think a Launch Freelancer button is necessary, since you have to activate the mod, and possibly start a server..

when I make a planet there is a entry for baces but on the dropdown there are no rooms for the baces ( or are there and I'm not seeing it ?) How do I go about adding rooms such as a bar or equipment room? Would I need another mod editor or can I use this one?

Blessed Be to all those that still dream of the flight to the stars.

Its a system editor, not a base editor, not a universe editor..
well not yet anyway.
