Kendo THM, and you have the empty_resources.dll problem with XP ???
I don't on my notebook ...
Can you check that the dll is not readonly ?

I have put another version able to work with custom ships (but no import option yet and probably not for a while).
To remove equipment, double click in the list

Hi! Great editor, been waiting for something like this for a while. anyhoo, I was wondering... how do you edit things that are allready there... like readelans and bases that I put in my system? the edit box is greyed out.

Great thanks. I'll tell you later if it is read-only. Haven't had time to yet!!

I'll keep you informed on bugs!!

Oh yeah, I've been trying to tell you this for ages, but have always forgot!!

I've got a weird bug, its that whenever I put something in a system (new one or old one), it comes up with "It is a good idea to name your mod-blablabla". Thats fine. But I sometimes get it that when I later go back to editing that new system (of course loading the newly saved mod), it then saves it into a completly different place. Especially if the original mod is saved to somewhere else than where the system editor is in.

The other thing I wanted to tell you, whenever I click on "Save into a new mod", nothing happens-Why??

I think I discovered the bug with the Hostile Universe thing. I tried to edit it while the mod was active. I think thats why. Don't worry!!

Bye

Hi just wanted to say: AWESOME UTILITY!

I'm running Windows XP, and it works like a dream. Like a few other posters have said, the ability to delete systems would be nice... and also the ability to preview star system background effects.

Bugs worth mentioning (and probably already mentioned)
1) You can't edit or move some stuff. e.g. I created a Battleship base next to a trade lane exit in New York, but can't edit it anymore. Did the same thing in a new system and created two battleship bases next to each other... can edit the first one, but not the second one.
2) Can't edit patrols once created (and when I tried to delete them, it deleted a nearby object instead!)

Keep up the great work!!!!

Salamander, unicows.exe should be an installer (i think so you can extract to any temp and take a look inside after to see if you have a setup ).
I am working on Win2k so i didnt tested it.

Kendo THM, it's far more safer to edit a mod when it's not activated.
I am planning with IGx89 (FLMM) to have a better integration (like activation of the mod from the editor and making sure that it's not activated before editing ).
But that will take a while.

bobthedog, right click should edit stuff. But not tradelanes at the moment, so delete it and create a new one.

When you have multiple objects very close, use the zoom (mouse wheel or +- on the keypad) to have a good distance between them.

Ineluki, yes you can (see above).
The edit button is not working (i'll remove it).
I have to add the code to edit/remove the patrols.

ok, thanks! BTW, it would be nice if it worked on uncompressed ini's because I'm doing work for Reynen's mod, and that means I have to make my systems in a normal FL copy and port them to the mod :/ Not hard...tho...

Anyhoo, great utility!

one odd thing:

It only saves the first save to the freelancer directory, the next saves go to the FLMM mod directory... is this normal?

and another:

I made a bunch of tradelanes, and one is broken. It goes off in weird directions for some reason... like it goes straight, instead of an angle... or complesely sideways.... but all the others work fine.

I have a small problem, I have a large "badlands" area that takes up the top section of my system. Inside are some bases, a jumphole, 2 jumpgates and Tradelanes to the rest of the system. I have a little problem with the exclusion zones.

I create the field as normal, add exclusion zones (There should be an ellipse option) then try to link the exclusion zones to the field. The problem is if I add all the exclusion zones I want to and click OK, all but one of the linked Zones dissappear, I havn't figured out myself why.

Great work though!

All there was in the exe file was:
unicows.dll
unicows.pdb
unicows.sym
license.txt and
redist.txt

There was no installer...

Post Mon Jun 02, 2003 10:46 pm

bobthedog, it's supposed to work with uncompressed ini if it's not can you send me one of the files that is not working.
for the flmm, no it's not normal. If you select save a new mod, it should always save to flmm.
weird for the tradelane... no idea.

JSWY, i'll check that, thanks. I'll add the ellipse option for the zone when i can.

Salamander, put everything with my program. it might not helped without code change but it might be ok..

New version available
added : delete system

Post Mon Jun 02, 2003 11:07 pm

salamander,
It will not be enough, i am updating the version to be able to use the unicows.dll and after that it should be ok.
I hope to have another version in less than an hour.

I really only have one problem with this utility...When I want to delete something, it deletes something else near it.

Post Tue Jun 03, 2003 3:05 am

shsan, once you've done that, could you tell me how to do that too? I can't figure out how to get BeginUpdateResource to work on Win98 using that unicows.dll file .
