Just for info, I have Windows Family Log In enabled on my Win98 box. That could be why mine worked the first try.

The level of activity on this thread has dropped. Anyone else try this and still have problems with MP ID generation?

Just went and made one on my neighbors PC.

I've been having this problem too.

I have two computers with ME, and a laptop with XP. I tried the ones with ME, and it won't generate an ID, it just has a black spot where the ID should be, and the ID retrival app says there's no ID. ME is set up with user accounts, so I think it's something else with ME, and not just the accounts thing.

I'm trying on the laptop now. We'll see how it goes.

Interesting notes: It asked me to reboot after I installed on the laptop. It didn't do this on my one ME box, but did for the other. Also, the XP install looked smaller. Maybe it's just my imagination.

Maybe people who want the MP to work dont want to splash out alot of money on a s****y windows OS.
So the developers should make a patch to fix this crappy problem.

I got the game on tuesday. And I ahve been playing single player. Haven't even tried multiplayer (I usually try to get good at single player before I tackle multi.)
Thursday I reinstalled windows because it was crashing when Explorer was up and kept looking for some DLL's
Well that problem got fixed, though I had to have the computer delete windows and install it.
anyway,
I reinstalled Freelancer because it wouldn't run with the new windows.
Which is understandable.
today I tried Multiplayer.
I get no code.
I know nothing of a code.
This is pure crap.
I can send pictures of the disk, box and manual if you think I hacked this crap, I hate warez and hackers. I believe that they are the main reasons that games are starting to suck.
Reguardless. one computer, one box of freelancer. no MP code.
What kind of Nazi crap is this?

I have this same problem. I am running on Windows ME and it does not give me a code. It says "The ID below is important, make you don't lose it, blablablabla" and then when I look below, the box is empty! It then tells you where to look in your harddrive to find your ID and when I did that, it said "Not Found".

This really sucks because I have a lot of friends who play online and I want to play with them! If anybody finds out something new, please post with the new information!
