I'm have not found any trouble but I know 2 people with Sis where the text is there but it just flashes and flickers which I have found some people in here have found, they have followed the instructions exactly but this doesn't seem to have helped them.

you know what's weird?

i have a SiS 300/305/630/540/730 (32 Mb) and i get flickering text that all it says is "New Game" and sometimes it will flicker and i can see each individual pixel

another thing is when i try to run the game it says that Freelancer doesn't recognize my video card and asks me if i'm sure i want to play it

do i need a freelancer patch (i have 1.1) (is there even a new one?)

or a new video card?

also, it works fine on win 98

i get awesome fps and no text flickering

HELP!!!!!!

I just installed a GeForce FX5600 on my system, but lnow freelancer only goes to a blank screen upon loading, then the computer resets.
I've tried the newish detonator drivers (44.??) and DirectX9.2, uninstalling/reinstalling, ect, but still no success. However the games will work when i revert back to my intrigrated intel graphics cared (which is VERY SLOW) and the game runs fine again. (but low fps & resolution)

My system is:
P4 1800
256MB DDR
nVidia Geforce FX5600
3DFX Voodoo2 accelerator
intigrated intel graphics(disabled)

can anyone help, the MS site is useless

I have an NVIDIA geforce 4 Ti 4200. The fix that you gave did not work. The text in my game has random symbols, letters, and numbers; for instance <text>, which may or may not be followed by some actual readable sentences. Any help would be appreciated.

I fixed a Font/Text problem I've had for a while, and I figured that I should post it here.
So if you have a similar problem with the font/text that you cannot fix, download the microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 service pack 4.
It cant hurt to install it, so you might as well try.

You are the man it worked for me. I also have an Intel 82810 graphics card and it worked for me. I was about to go by a new video card until i came and checked out the forums. THANK YOU.

Hey I sent a reply to microsoft, and they haven't helped yet, but you fixed my problem. Thanks a lot!!!!!!

I did NOT know my GFX card's model number......so I changed them all! Haha...seems to run fine now!

It looks like this. Maybe it will help some of you. Don't get mad if it screws your up though... I thought it was a bit funny just to change them all and it worked.

Thanks sooooooooooo much, you really are the master! I can't tell you how much more i am enjoying this game since i used the advice you posted. As you said "so much for microsoft..." I completely agree, stupid technical support. Thats a bunch o-bull

Bah...doesn't seem to work...couldn't find Radeon 9200 SE on the list, and I'm too dumb to try and add it there
